Just watched California Screamin' get stuck, saw the green car at the top of the highest lift hill and people walked down the stairs from my room at PP. Took about 20 minutes. Cool to watch, not sure I'd like being one of those folks!

I got stuck on it. Thankfully we were in the easiest to evac position but that meant we were last off. We were just where the ride slows down and is about to go back to the load/unload area.

It's been stuck before. The safety systems will automatically apply brakes in certain situations. At least it didn't get stuck in the loop like some coasters have experienced.

How cool! I've always wanted to be walked off a ride. Such a unique experience

Kriss pirate:

An overrated experience. I've been walked off of BTMRR and Mr Toad. ToT stopped, but it wasn't a walk-off experience with the ride vehicle going right back to the loading area and everyone was offered a chance to repeat. Kind of boring waiting.

Got stuck on IAJ. It was a great experience as we got to walk through most of it including under the big rolling boulder!

There are definitely a few rides that would make me nervous to be stuck on. I agree that it's mostly boring waiting around to be walked off a ride, but Indy was kind of cool. The other rides that I have been walked off of were Alice and Toy Story. Toy Story was definitely a long, boring process.

Happened the other day, too. We were going back to the parks from Anabella and saw a car being unloaded. It had just broken down a few hours before as DS was in single rider for it. Which prompted a good discussion of what to do in case of that sort of breakdown, if he's single rider! :)

I've been stuck on other rides, but never that one. It's cool being stuck in the dark rides because you get to see how it looks with the lights on. Not so sure I'd ever want to be stuck on Screamin'. My fear of heights would be at an all-time high.

Spin-off question: how do they evacuate someone who can't do stairs?

Fire department has evac chairs where they strapped the individual to the chair and then carry them down kind of like a back pack system. There are other ways too if needed.

I saw Screamin' get evac'd every day during my six-day trip in May. It's crazy just to watch all those people at the top of the tallest hill have to walk down the ride. I'd nope my way straight out of there.

I like being evacuated. In fact, my friend and I have a pin collection just of rides that we've been evacuated from. It doesn't happen often, but it's cool. We've been evacuated from Winnie the Pooh, Matterhorn, and Buzz Lightyear. In May I was evacuated from Ratatouille in Disneyland Paris. That was a cool one to walk out of.

We got stuck on California screaming a few years ago. I'd never been claustrophobic until that day. It really freaked me out being stuck there strapped in tight. We were just outside of the station when it got stuck but it took the staff about 20 minutes to get us off because they were getting the people off who got stuck way up on top of the ride first. It kind of ruined the ride for me but my wife loves it so that means we ride it pretty often. Ever since we got stuck, whenever we ride it now I spend the whole ride worrying about it getting stuck again instead of enjoying the ride. Its a real bummer.

We also got stuck on Splash Mountain right by the water fall, but that was fun. We were stuck there at least for 30 minutes. Got to walk off and go down the stairs and go back stage. It was really cool.

I'm just imaging being the person who can't do stairs having to be evacuated. I'd be so embarrassed. I was talking to my DH about it, and told him I'd probably just try to scoot down on my bum if they'd let me.

Now there's another thing for me to worry about at DL... Where's that "unrealistic DL fears" thread now? Lol

When we were there 6 months ago, we were on the Jingle Cruise and didn't get very far when the ride stopped. After several minutes in front of the tiger, the CM apologized and then.... we had to go backwards back to the dock. It was hilarious! We got a choice fast pass and ended up using it on Indy which was perfect because we wanted to ride it one last time that night, but the line had been too long.

How interesting! I'm trying to picture how the coaster gets evacuated. I'm going to have to google that!

We've been evacuated out of Pirates, and YES! it was completely amazing! The cast members made it all the funnier (not on purpose). It was definitely a once-in-a-lifetime experience!

I love when weird/crazy things happen! So, ride evacuations/walk-offs are right up my alley! :)

We got stuck on Goofy's Sky School - Right at the top, we were the last car to leave the station. There must be certain spots where the cars roll to and then stop ... we moved forward perfectly to a platform, then stopped. But, it was my daughter & me, she was about 6 maybe. They evacuated from the bottom up, so we sat there & sat there, in the bright sunshine, for about 30 minutes until they got to us. I didn't have my cell or camera, they were with my hubby - so he had NO IDEA what was going on & where we were, and if we were ok. When it was our turn, it was interesting - it looked like official Fire Department, if they weren't, they acted like it - they told me that I needed to get out before my daughter, and that I wasn't allowed to help her out, they had to do it (i.e., lift her over the ride side & down a few feet to the platform). We walked down the stairs and at the bottom, they gave everyone a fastpass to anything. We used it on Toy Story Midway Mania (we HATE waiting for that ride, but love riding it).

We also got stuck on Monster's Inc., which was kind of cool. We were in the 2nd room, and they turned the lights on, and had us walk the entire ride to the exit. Kind of interesting, given we were probably 50 feet from the start of the ride, I would've thought they'd walk us back to the entrance. Since there wasn't much of a line, they didn't offer any "sorry the ride broke down" gestures.
