It's great to meet my fellow CA DVC friends! We are from Elk Grove(near Sacramento) and bought 210 points in 2007. We went in Feb of 08 to WDW and are going back in um..........37 days! We were not planning on back to back trips but the kids had such a good time at AKV and the Dis Cruise that we had to go back.

Is anyone in CA interested in adding points at the GCV?

A Northern Californian here -- Castro Valley in SF East Bay. We bought AKV last year and are definitely interested in a VGC add-on. But we'll see how that works out...

Hi all! I'm in Lakewood, which is right on the border between LA and OC. I just purchased a 50 point BWV contract to enable my yearly WDW trek. Of course I'm at DL every single chance I get!

Anaheim here. 0.9 miles away from the park. In fact I can see and hear the park from my house.

Currently 200 points at SSR, will be buying as many points as Disney will sell me for the Grand Californian as soon as they go on sale and then I will be dumping my SSR points.

Great Orange County minds think alike! I also bought 160 points at SSR for the purpose of being able to get first crack at GCV and then will later sell my SSR points. I live in Orange, CA--15 minutes from Disneyland--I can hear the fireworks from my house.

When the air is the right humidity and temp, I can hear the music from the fireworks and Fantasmic from my house.

I had bought at SSR becuase there wasnt DVC at Disneyland yet and SSR was right next door to my favorite Disney thing in the world, the Adventurers Club at Pleasure Island. Now that its gone, I realize just how boring Walt Disney World is compaired to all the other Disney offerings, Disneyland Paris, Tokyo Disneyland, Hong Kong Disneyland, Disney Cruise Line.

But Disneyland will always be my home park that I will never get tired of.

My aunt and uncle live nearby in Magalia. They were snowed in a few weeks ago!

We're from Granite Bay, about 20min east of Sacramento. We joined in Jan 08 with 225pts at SSR. Our first trip home was going to be 8 days at SSR and VWL at the end of this month, but I'm now having unexpected back surgery in 2 days It was the hardest thing to make that call and cancel. But, since we had to use the points by Aug this year and we are already going to WDW for a few nights in Oct before our 7 night Disney Cruise, I decided to splurge and use the points for 5 concierge nights at the Grand Californian. I know it's not the wisest use of points, but I now can't wait for May!

Sorry to hear about your surgery - I hope all goes well. I think your alternative plan at the Grand Californian sounds great!

We are going to buy a small add on at VGC. I just couldn't see not being able to stay there when it's so close, and I love that hotel. Also, our DLR trips are usually 5-7 nights since it's a day's drive or we have to fly..

If we can do a small add-on, we may buy at VGC. DH doesn't really consider it a vacation unless we get on an airplane so it isn't somewhere he'd want to stay for more than a night or two.
