California Pizza Kitchen

:thumbsup2

The original! Spinach fettuccine with chicken, red and yellow peppers, red onions and fresh cilantro in a tequila-lime and jalapeño cream sauce.

My dh is a general manager for CPk. I love it, and dh still enjoys eating there even after working for them for 12 years.

We went in tonight and I had a cup of the Chicken corn chowder and the Margherita pizza.

They just added some new pasta dishes to the menu: Chicken Piccata, Chicken Marsala, and Chicken Milanese. They also have a new mango-tandoori pizza that is excellent.

Whenever my playgroup has some kind of holiday party I always bring a large catering size BBQ chopped salad. Everyone loves it!

But, and this is my favorite----if you like split pea soup---theirs is amazing!!!! It is the pea and barley soup (and it's vegetarian)----so good on a cold winter's day.

i agree 100% about the pea soup, it's amazing, the chicken corn chowder is great too. i also really like the chinese chicken salad. for something with a little kick they have a sausage and pepper pasta dish that's yummy. only thing i don't like about CPK is that amount of cilantro that they put into everything! i always ask them to leave it off, i just don't like the taste.

I can't believe that no one has mentioned the Thai Salad!!! I would give up my next-born to have that everyday. The Milan pizza is also great if you love mushrooms, and I don't really like pizza.

:confused3 i was born and have lived in california for 40 plus years and looking at the menu for this place can honestly say i've never encountered a pizza place here that offers selections like this (the national chains do some of the bbq stuff, but the locals tend to be pretty basic-maybe a gormet veggie but not the thai stuff for sure).

honestly-if they ever go nationwide (or you pay a visit to northern california) and you want a killer pizza or italian food-hit 'mary's pizza'-started with a little shack in boyes hot springs and has grown to be a very popular chain (but still retains the quality mary included in all her dishes). :thumbsup2

Oh.. Mary's pizza??? Since I moved to Illinois last year, I have been craving Mary's, like no other (That and good Chinese, but that is a whole different thread). This Chicago pizza (thick crust/stuffed) just isn't working for me at all. :p I may have to order Mary's when I go home for Christmas. Yum!

On topic, I have a CPK about 2 blocks from my apartment, and I have only gone there once. This thread is making me want to go back soon.

I'm managing editor for a national pizza magazine (Yes, it is the best job in the world. Yes, they do pay me to travel and eat pizza.). CPK is #6 on our Top 100 Chains list. Their founder, Ed Ladou, single-handedly revolutionized gourmet pizza.

I've eaten there scores of times since our local one opened at the mall and I order one thing only: the barbecue chicken pizza on whole wheat.

DH likes their jabalaya (super spicy) and DD likes the cheese pizza.

Y'all need to tell me about this Mary's -- I might need to do a profile on them.

Another BBQ Chicken Pizza fan here! I'm a NYer and picky about having GOOD pizza-theirs is great.

Shrimp Lettuce Wraps!!! :worship: ..............It's on the appetizer list but it is a meal!!!!

Another vote for BBQ chicken! I live in Canada and this chain is not in my area, so whenever I'm in the States I look for this restaurant. It is sooo yummy! :thumbsup2

Thanks for all the great reviews... I think I'm going to have to go there every day for a month in order to try everything! :teeth:

BLT pizza, casesar salad and their veggie sandwich on foccacia bread are my favorites!!! Yummy!!
