California National Guard flyby at 3:00 today!

Folks, I’m at the rope now. The CM at the gate just told me that there will be a California National Guard, 144th Fighter Wing flyby around 3:00 today to mark the release of Captain Marvel. Keep an eye out for it if you’ll be here!

Correct. Initially we were told 3:00. Either 3:10 was always the correct time or it changed. Sitting at the hub as I await the planes. Hope to be able to grab some decent pics.

Thankfully! . What I meant was that I'd hoped they'd take a few passes. They flew over and were gone in no time. It felt a bit like driving all the way to Florida to see the ocean, pulling into the beach parking lot and then turning around and heading for home.

Sort of off-topic - our house is right in line with Phoenix ISM Raceway (formerly Phoenix International Raceway), where they have NASCAR races. So the AF flyovers during the national anthem come right over us. It's cool! (In fact, our spring race is this coming weekend, as it happens.)

I had something similar to that when I was living in SD. For my first 2 years at UCSD, I lived on campus (La Jolla) and the campus is in the flight path of MCAS Miramar. It's pretty awesome to see the jets flying over the campus in the afternoon coming back from whatever they were doing out at sea. In the morning when they were going out at 6am - not so much There were many mornings that I was woken up and I grumbled. Thankfully when I moved off campus, I was just south enough, that I wasn't being woken up at the crack of dawn.
