Madn an ADR there, my quesion is I am a sushi NUT we are on the DP is the sushi just an appetizer or are there entrees on the menu if so are they on the DP

Also is there any where (let meknow on or off DP) where we can get some kind of sushi roll as a quick lunch? :ccat: :ccat: :ccat: :ccat: :ccat: :ccat:

Kevin and I are also Sushi nuts. We have sushi and sashimi at least once a week. We're also EXTREMELY adventerous eaters and will try any and all creations offered to us by Sushi Chefs.

Having said that...California Grill will probably be a total disappointment for you in the sushi department, although it is better than a few places I've been to.

We tried CG on our Easter 2005 trip. We sat at the sushi counter and although the fish was fresh, CG had nothing except for the generic ordinary items. Tuna, Salmon, and the like. Rolls were pretty unadventerous also.

They do have sushi choices as a meal, and not just appetizers.

We started with a "Snake in the Grass" roll and some sashimi.

And followed up with CG's version of a sampler platter.

We've also eaten at Wolfgang Puck's Sushi counter and felt pretty much the same. Very fresh seafood, but unadventerous to our tastes.

Blue Zoo, we've heard mixed reviews on, but have not tried it ourselves.

I think if you keep in mind that Disney's version of sushi caters to the "masses", you'll find very fresh offerings, although very generic.

Let us know what you find on your trip!

The best sushi at Disney is at Kimonos in the Swan. I like CG but it does not compare at all to Kimonos. Kimonos has a much larger choice such as smelt roe, sea urchin, conch and octopus.

I wasnt going to CG specifically for the sushi, but as I said I am a sushi nut and I am very spoiled as 5 minutes from my home is sushi by Kazu which is by far the best sushi you will have ever tasted and I mean the best far better than most of the trendy places in NYC, but I figured I would get it as an appetizer at CG or an entree if I wasnt crazy bout my choices, geez its only 11 and I already have a hankering for some sweet shrimp sashimi (which btw Mr. Disney is only in season for a few months if any place by you has it I highly recommend, its totally different from regular shrimp melts in your mouth)

I'll call and make a reservation Kimonos and do a full review during our Easter Weekend trip to Disney.

Yes, Kevin and I LOVE sweet shrimp. it is a TOTALLY different experience from regular "flash frozen" shrimp.

Do you have the heads of the sweet shrimp tempora'd? They are so cool. Like eating a chinese version of potatoe chips!

We went to the Japan in Epcot and had sushi for lunch and dinner. We were on the DDP. It was my first time eating sushi. Now I am hooked. :goodvibes I would love to hear from some of you sushi lovers how this compares to the other WWD restaurants.
