Has anyone just done dessert and drinks at California Grill, then viewed fireworks -- I have a res at 9:30 and fireworks are at 10:00. Always wanted to do this, but 9:30 is a little late for my family to eat dinner. thoughts?

I don't think there is any rule against it. I couldn't eat dinner at 9:30pm either.

I personally have not, but I know plenty of people that have. It's fine, especially late. Just tell your server you only want the dessert menu. You're still making the reservation and paying for food. I've had just drinks & an app at CA grill once, that's roughly the same thing.

If your ADR is at 9:30 and Wishes is at 10, I am not at all sure how much opportunity you will have to be seated before the show. This is not first hand info because my ADR's have been earlier, but I have read that diners who are in the dining room rarely budge that close to the fireworks show. You may be allowed up and then just watch the show before you eat.

It is perfectly acceptable to order dessert and coffee. The desserts were pretty darn good the last time I was there, and worth having that late.
