My grown up daughter and I will be in the world the last week of September and plan to do some fine dining at California Grill on the day we visit the Magic Kingdom. We have our reservations and are aware of the "dress code" for this facility. We are not concerned that we will not be able to adhere to the code (we are conservative dressers and will likely be in capris and "dressy" tee shirts. My concern is will we be comfortable? Will there be others in "theme park" attire or will we find ourselves amidst a lot of grown ups out for a "special dinner" ... in other words, dressed up a bit? We have eaten in many, many restaurants at WDW over the years but never at one quite this "fancy".

You will be fine. Very dressed up people are rare at CG.

I think you will be fine in capri's and dressy tshirts. My mother and I dined at CG on May 12th and there was a variety of attire. I wore dressy walking shorts, a dress shirt, and some cute platforms and in no way felt underdressed. There were a few ppl in nice dresses and dinner jackets and then there were ppl in jeans. Don't worry about it. It's your vacation, as long as your are within dress policy you will be fine :thumbsup2 Enjoy! You are certainly in for a treat :cloud9:

I usually wear nice jean carpis and a nice top to dinner at California Grill and I've never felt out of place.

You'll be fine. Last time I ate there I wore capris, a nice black top and sandals.

This is what we wore last time we were there....

I wouldn't recommend my attire unless it is a very special day :lmao:

DH and DSis's DBF wore suits, and DSis wore a dress with a sweater.

Most people were dressed up that I saw. I would say most people were semi dressed up, not black tie, but nice clothing.

Here is what we wore at Cali Grill... NOT quite as dressed up as PP...but we were quite comfortable. I had the same concerns as OP...but it was our MK day and I didn't want to get overheated...

Have a Great time !

Doubt seriously you will see any "fancy" dress at the CG unless someone is celebrating some special occasion.
So what you propose to wear will be just fine!!!

I usually wear a dress and nice sandals or capris with a more stylish blouse (like a wrap top or silk shell) Part of the enjoyment of the nicer restaurants is wearing nicer clothing. I am not sure what you mean by a dressier t shirt but I think you'll likely be fine. I've seen lots of people wearing capris (including myself) as you plan to do and unfortunately some people who didn't even meet the minimum dress code (shorts and t shirts) I love CG and I hope you have a great meal there!

You'll be fine! Enjoy it! My family had an AMAZING dinner there in February.

I normally wear a sundress or nice capris just because I prefer to go back to the room, shower, and dress up a little, but just FYI shorts and t shirts are in the dress code. Direct from the DDP brochure the dress codes for the signature restaurants are:

Men: Dress slacks, jeans, trousers, or dress shorts, short- or long-sleeved shirt with a
collar or t-shirt required. Jackets are optional.

Ladies: Jeans, skirt, or dress shorts with blouse, sweater or t-shirt, or a dress required.

Not permitted: tank tops, swimsuits or swimsuit cover-ups, hats for gentlemen, cut offs,
or torn clothing of any kind

I usually wear a skirt and a nice shirt. DH wears nice shorts and a shirt with a collar. We always seem to fit in!!!
