California Grill

This was the best dining experience that we have ever had at DW. I say this without exception, it was an experience. DW and I did not have reservations, but walked up and we were lucky to get a seat at the Chef's counter. We were greeted by one of the chef's that was running the line and throughout our dinner were entertained by the line chefs and the sushi chefs preparing the meals. Our server was excellent and made our dinner very special. We were seated at 7:00pm and just prior to 8:00pm we were informed that our main course was not going to be started till after the wishes fireworks, so we could go to the observation deck and view Wishes. The food was excellent, we were started with a complementary cup of soup, and then had one of the signature sushi rolls, and the goat cheese ravioli, DW has the pork tenderloin with polenta and I had the seared sea scallops with scalloped potatoes.

If you have the opportunity to go to California Grill don't miss it. It is on now on my list of must do's when I return.

Been considering this for our September trip home & you've sold me on it!
I have wondered about how you would view Wishes if you didn't have a prime seat. Now I know! They arrange it so you can step outside to view it, then continue serving the meal. Neat.

Glad to hear that this a good choice, we have ressies there for the night of the July 4th we have heard great reviews and made sure to call @ 180 days to make sure we got in. We also have 3 birthdays around that date, 1 on July 2nd and 2 on the 5th might see if we can get something special.

This sounds wonderful - we have our ADRs for this year, but I was considering it for our longer trip next year. Given your recent experience, do you have any thoughts on bringing kids there? (Our group includes a pre-schooler.) I know it's Disney, so technically it should be fine, but what's your honest opinion about whether our kids and other diners would feel comfortable with that?

Great review!! Glad you liked it!! Cali Grill is our absolute must-do dinner on every trip. It is so romantic, and the food and service are just exceptional, every time. The sushi rolls are yums!!

This was our most anticipated meal of the trip..we did 6 Sign. dinners and I wanted to really love Cal. Grill since, I have read such good reports on it.

We even had it timed to watch Wishes. The server was just ok nothing outstanding. The Sushi was great, best part of the meal and the entrees were just ok also. My husband and I are not picky eaters...but our favorite meals were at Jiko's, Narcossee and Flying Fish...service and food for us was outstanding there.

However, glad that others have had a great experience at Cal. Grill.

California Grille is by far our favorite restaurant on property. Although this is the only signature meal we've had, but still our favorite! We go every time we visit! The fillet, the service, and observation deck for wishes makes it so worth the 2 ts credits

Calif Grill is our absolute fav! We ate there almost 2 wks ago. Our 4 yr & 1 yr old were w/us too. Don't worry about bringing kids & the waiter was great.
The ravioli was delicious, but the goat cheese polenta was unbelievable!!! Oh my, I wanted to take a bowl of it home!

Cali Grill was our best dining experience on property. Hands down!

Four Adults, three hours, Wishes, four courses, $350...but worth every penny!

It was a great experience everyone should try at least once. And ask for Walter for your server!

Hey G-Duck! Baton Rouge here.... Geaux Saints! Glad to read your Cali Grill review... I've never been but have ressies for our MK day...May 10th .... I got 5:30p ressies ...and Wishes is at 10p... I really want to watch Wishes from MK..because I don't want to miss TINK....flying.....

Just me and DS18.....It's his Graduation Celebration.... HE LOVES SUSHI...and Cali Grill was the only place I had heard served a great sushi when I made ADRS... (SInce then I've read about Kimono's...and we'll try to stop by there if we can)

The only time I've been to St. Thomas Aquinas was for DS18 Tennis Tournament....Ya'll are awesome!

Cali grill is definetly our favorite restaurant on property. DH wants to eat there twice on our next trip! The snake in the grass, ravoli, scallops, and filet are our favs.
