I cant decide whether it is worth using 2 on the DDP. I was originally just doing all 1 TS's but hubby is quite keen to get to CG - advice please :thumbsup2

I'm not sure any of the 2TS restaurants are really worth 2TS. We're skipping them all this time, and will catch them all the next time we plan to pay for dining OOP.

California Grill and Jiko are well worth the 2 TS!!!

Out of all the 2 TS credit place I have gone to - CG is the most worth it. It is AMAZING - both the food and the view!

Is Califronia Grill the same place as the California Grill Resturant chain? We have several California Grills here in Chicago and when I lived in California they were there as well.

I don't think so. I don't believe Disney has any signature restaurants that are a chain

California Grill is owned by Disney. It is not part of any chain.

I think I was thinking of California Pizza Kitchen. They are one of my favorite restaurants! I looked them up and it is not the same place

I agree with bicker on this one . . . I didn't find any of the Signature Restaurants actually worth 2 TS; we went to CG and Jiko's. Yes, the food was fine, but not really a good cost to value experience. :guilty:

Enjoy whichever you do. :thumbsup2

I agree with those who feel that no restaurants are worth 2 TS. I have eaten at Jiko, California Grill, and Artist Point and feel that Le Cellier is comparable to all three when it comes to menu options and overall quality of the meal. The one thing I can say is that a miss watching the fireworks from a top the California Grill but I suppose you could go up to the CG bar around that time and watch. Good Luck and have a great vacation with the Mouse whatever you decide.

On our last trip (Sept-free DDP) we ate at 3 signatures. Cal. Grill, Brown Derby (my mom really wanted this one) and, one I don't hear much about, Narcoossee's. I feel both CG and Nar. were worth the 2 points. The only reason we did HBD was because we had enough points. If we didn't, we would have skipped it, or paid OOP. We were there 10 nights, with 3 people, so we had 30 of each credit to use. Also, we pay OOP for my DD7, at any 2 TS.

We had an excellent meal at CG and we did see the fireworks, and the sunset. We were disappointed in the fact that they didn't dim the lights and you could see the reflection from the room in the windows. If I had known the lights were staying on, I would have gone out to the observation deck. On of the reasons our meal was so good, besides the food, was our server, Billy. He is CG sommelier (wine guy) and he was very pleasant and helpful with recommendations. Our meal there last Sept. (on my DM birthday) was just okay-our server seemed bored and nothing special was done for my mom's :bday:. We decided to try it again, and we were very glad we did. :goodvibes

We ate a Narcoossee's on our final night and it was the top meal of our trip :goodvibes (#2 was CG). My mom doesn't want me to post much about Narcoossee's because she doesn't want to make it hard to get into. We were able to get Monday night ressies just a few days before. S & S weren't available. What we didn't know, and we very happy to find out was, they dim the lights and play the music for the fireworks. We could see from our upper level seats, but the view from outside was better. Also, our server was quick to point out that the "surf and turf" was included with our DDP, so of course we ordered it. It was very good. Also, to top it off, I had the best dessert of our trip that night-almond crusted cheesecake with raspberry (I think) sauce. It was to-die-for delicious! :lovestruc I would go back there just for that alone.

If I wasn't on DDP I would be happy to just have appetizer (I had the calamari which was very good) and dessert.

My meal at California Grill would have cost about $70 if I'd paid for it. Since the DDP "costs" about $38 per day, for all 3 meals, I figure that leaves (70/2=$35) $38-$35, or $3 for the rest of the day. So if you follow my thinking, it's quite likely a good deal.

Well, I think most of us were referring to how good of a deal it is versus two 1TS meals. It is very easy to find two 1TS meals where, combined, you can spend more than $70 per person.
