I just made ressies at the CG. My original plan was to put our DD 7 and DS 5 in the Never Land CLub, and then my DH and I go to dinner alone. We thought the kids would really enjoy the club. However, when I made my ressies, the super-nice reservation CM talked me into bringing the kids...she said it is an awesome experience for them...they can watch the food being made, the awesome view, the fireworks, etc..."a wonderful experience". DH and I don't mind eating with the kids...they are well-behaved. Which would they enjoy more? We've never done either. Thanks!

When my brother was little, his favorite restaurant was California Grill, hands down. Come to think of it, it still is. If they're well behaved in restaurants, bring them. It's a great place.

my wife and i ate at CG last fall and really liked the place...we were seated in the wine room area because it was our anniversary and its quieter in there...we have debated whether its the right restaurant to bring kids, because when i see a $50 filet mignon on the menu, i say not really...that being said, there were alot of families with kids there so i guess it depends on how your kids are having dinner at 9pm when the fireworks at MK start...

This place accomodates kids of all ages. I have never been there when I wasn't completely surrounded by children (most of them fairly well behaved). I think that they will enjoy the food, views, and surroundings.

Enjoy!!:cutie:

CG has been my kid's favorite restaurant for years also. They are 14 & 11 now, but we've been taking them since they were very little. I wouldn't say you can see them "preparing" the food, but depending on where your seat is, you can see the chefs in the kitchen. They usually have crayons & gold fish crackers & they also offer a children's menu. My kids have always liked the kid's pizza & sometimes still order it, they just make it adult sized for them. As for the fireworks, you don't have to eat at 9pm, instead you could plan for 6:30/7:00 & just head out to the observation deck when you are finished with your meal. One thing I will say is that it tends to be a long meal, so as long as your children don't mind sitting for about 2 hours at a dinner table, they should be fine.

We took our DD4 with us last year and she enjoyed it. She loves to eat in nice restaurants and was very well behaved. We requested a window table and she loved the view. Be sure to go out on the viewing deck with them also.

We've never been there when there weren't plenty of families there even for later dinners. I think its suprisingly loud in there anyway. So children laughing or talking shouldn't be bothersome to anyone. It's not like they will have to sit there and talk in hushed tones the whole time. You should all be able to relax and enjoy it.

If they're well behaved in restaurants, bring them.

And even if they're not. There tends to be a large herd of kids running around the California Grill...the word "zoo" comes to mind. And yes, I am a parent.

We brought our 3 kids last year who were 3,4 and 6 at the time. They werent any louder then any other adults there. They stayed in their chairs and coloured and watched the kitchen since we were really close to it. As soon as Wishes came on they were very quiet and amazed by the show. I must say I heard alot more noise coming from adults then any kids there. I would definetly bring your kids they're going to love it!!!!

Praying my 2.5 and 4.5 year olds will enjoy it. My DD was fine when we went last October. Thankfully the DW will have some things up her sleeve for them.
It's a FAMILY vacation after all.
:goodvibes

This is my boys fav restaurant and they are 7 and 6. We have eaten here with them 3 times and each time has been great.

It was my boys that asked if we could have our Christmas dinner here so who am I to argue.;)

Its great for families, have a lovely meal.:thumbsup2

My kids were 9 and 6 on our last trip and they loved it. It was the day DD got her BBB makeover and she was in her full princess wear with the bun and pixie dust and everything. She was so excited when she was chosen to "start" the fireworks from the restaurant! It really is a wonderful view and not the quiet atmosphere you'd find at the other signature restaurants.

Also, CG has one of the better kids' menus out there, with a really inventive dessert - 'sushi' made from rice krispy treats and gummy fish. Both my kids loved it!

We were just there on Friday and loved it. Our boys are 7 and 4 and did well. It is a long meal though. We were seated at 7:50 and left at 10:30. We did go outside at 9:30 to watch fireworks, before we had our dessert though.

Earlier in the week my dh and I went to Victoria & Albert's. We left the boys at the Neverland Club and they loved it. When we came to get them they asked if they could stay longer.

So, I don't think you will make a bad decision either way.
