Newbie question! :cutie:

So, we've decided to go to the California Grill on a regular DP... How does sushi work on that? Could I order a sushi roll just as my regular entree? Or, if I wanted sushi, could I not replace it, and would I have to pay OOP instead?

Thanks for your help and input. =)

You should be able to order it for your entree. Don't forget though that California Grill will take 2 table service credits. Depending on your plans it might be better to pay out of pocket at California Grill and use the credits elsewhere -- two TS credits is a lot for a $22 sushi roll and dessert. Their sushi is fabulous though so if that's what you really want -- go for it!

Hmm - it hadn't occurred to me that that would probably be a pretty horrible value for the DP. That's definitely something to consider, thanks for the answer and that something to consider!

The answer depends of the type of dining plan you have. Whereas Deluxe Dining Plan includes the appetizer, the standard Dining Plan doesn't. California Grill features many sushi items. Two of them are considered as entrees, so you can order them with both plans. All others are appetizers, so you would have to pay out of pocket with the standard plan.

While what you are saying is true -- on DXDP Snake in the Grass and Yoshie's Deluxe platter count as entrees and not appetizers -- I can't imagine them not allowing the other sushi options as an entree on the regular plan simply because they are less expensive and count as an appetizer for the deluxe dining plan.

Maybe, but:

(1) It is my opinion these appetizers' size is not large enough to be an entree substitute (unless you are not so hungry).

(2) These appetizers are not expensive enough to rationaly use 2TS . Other items (as the 44$ filet) are better options.
