Issues With Dessert Order

Me and my DH will be celebrating our 5th wedding anniversary :cheer2: at California Grill on May 13. We have never ordered anything special made from the personal dining. I have been emailing Chef Brian with the Contemporary the last couple of days. Which has been hard because my husband works at nights and is at home during the day. We had all the details worked out via email but was told to call and relay what the email said when I placed the order on the phone. So any way my DH was home today during the day and he was suppose to go somewhere but it was to rough. Long story short he now knows I am planning a surprise for our Anniversary but has no idea what or that it even evolves the bakery/restaurant. (Just told him planning something so give me some space. Said it nicer than that though LOL.) Any way back to the order I called to order today after tucked myself away in the back of the house while DH played video games. I finally got a hold of the personal dining line and they just where not understanding what I was trying to ask for. Now I am worried it will not turn out right. It was suppose to be a 2D image of Darth Maul Donald on chocolate made with edible image and 6 chocolate covered strawberries and four truffles. With something written on the plate. Any way the lady that picked up did not know what I was asking for when I said Darth Maul Donald. I had to spell out Darth and then she said "oh Darth Vader" and I was like no "Darth Maul Donald" I tried to explain that Disney even but out action figures of it. I then explained I had already discussed it with Chef Brian via email. I spelled out everything and she said she would put it as a note that is was per email to Chef Brian and said if they had any questions they would ask him. I then tried to explain that it was to include the strawberries, truffles, and writing.

I went with a simple with the message "Happy Anniversary" because I did not want it missed up.

1. So my question is should I be worried that it won't turn out well and what should I do? I am just so worried that it will not be right.

2. Also I thought about reducing the number of strawberries/truffles not necessary for price but because I know DH and I are both looking forward to trying the desserts there. Of course I could ask for them to be boxed and take back to the room could't I? Any thought on that? If I did reduce it it would be by half to three strawberries and 2 truffles representing the five years we have been married. Of course I am nervous to call back and make changes if I did decided to reduce because of worrying about making to many changes that it will not be right and also I know some Chefs are picky and I do not want to make too many changes to what was originally said.

3. Also is $70 a good price for an order like this at WDW it seems like it to me. Since it 6 chocolate strawberries, 4 truffles and the chocolate image but like I said before ordering from the WDW Personal Dining line is new to me.

Need Input! :headache:

Last November we ordered a specialty cake from Chef Brian to be served at the California Grill. And it was amazing :cheer2: We wanted a very oddly themed cake with very specific flavors and the banner was half in Mano (West African language), and they got it all right. We thought it would either look good or taste good but not both, but nope, it looked and tasted great. If you put what you wanted on email, I believe he's got it and will do it. The person on the phone is just for price, and I believe the price is average for what you want. We took like half the cake back to the room and they boxed it up for us no problem.

And not only did the cake turn out well, our night was made special in many ways. We got a beautiful table at the window where we watched the sunset and had Mickey confetti on the table and the waitress was so sweet about making it special. So don't worry, and have fun :goodvibes

Thanks. I just want that night to be special for my DH because he does so much for me. We are on the dining plan so I wanted a dessert from the menu so it is good that they will box it up. Glad to now that it about average what they charge for what I want.
