Just how good is the California Grill? I am thinking of making a PS for our upcoming trip for just my wife and I.

I think that this would be a gret end to our trip.

What are your experiences there?

It is one of the top restaurants in all of Orlando so I would go for it! We're eating there next month once again and I can't wait.
Make sure you book your PS early as they tend to go on the weekends.

DH and I always end our trip to WDW with dinner at Calif Grill. The view is lovely (with or without fireworks - we prefer early dining so haven't been there for fireworks). The food is outstanding and the service excellent. The menu changes frequently, but there is always lots of variety and everything is fresh. As previous poster said, it's one of the top restaurants in Orlando -- the locals come out for this one!!

It was OK for me. I expected alot more. The young chicken I had just was'nt for me. But, I had a piece of the pork tenderloin and it was pretty good. Great view and service, but I probably would'nt go back any time soon.

The food is great - the view is THE BEST. We have had dinner there a number of times, both with and without children. We really enjoy the wine selection. I cannot say that it is the best but it is quite extensive - but the best part is that every wine can be purchased by the glass - this way you can try many different varieties without being stuck with a whle bottle of something you may not totally enjoy.

The service has always been great and we really love the view. It is quite nice.

It's always been one of our favorite spots also. Just be sure to make PS, as it is usually quite busy.

My family loves CG & we eat there during every WDW trip. We have a PS for our March trip. DH & I used to eat there as our adults-only meal when our DSs were young. But now that they are "gourmets", both DSs insist on a dinner at CG, with or without fireworks. We enjoy the food & they added a very clever, albeit expensive, child's dessert. But DH & I especially love the wine selections & the knowledge that the waitstaff shares about the wines. We are not big drinkers, so the ability to have a glass of really good wine, rather than a glass of house wine, is a big plus in our book. I was reading another thread, where a poster noted that her DH thought that CG was "too plain" in atmosphere. As I sit here in NJ, looking out on a gray day in Jersey City, give me the "plain" of CG. Anytime I can gaze at the Castle, I'm a happy woman.

Fantastic, Fantastic, Fantastic!!!!

In several trips I have had nothing but great service and great food. Also, if you are a wine drinker, almost everything is available by the glass-- which is a HUGE plus in my book!

Enjoy!

We ate at the Cali Grill for the first time this past October. It was excellent. We did not have a fireworks view from our table but the timing worked out perfectly so that we were able to go outside and watch the fireworks between dinner and dessert. We had the pork tenderloin and a beef dish, both were really very good. The chocolate cake for dessert was to die for.
