1. Is the flatbreads considered an appetizer?

2. How accomadating are they in making things "plain"? Will they leave off sauces or substitute certain things like root vegetables for items on the kids menu, such as Yulon potatoes?

3. Do they offer smoothies or other non-alcoholic drinks here?

4. What is the best time to get a table to see Wishes from here?

5. Is there still the outside balcony right off the restaurant to view Wishes?

We at CG this past Friday night (on the dining plan).

1. Yes, flatbreads are appetizers.

2. Sauces can be left off, I'm sure, although none of our entrees had anything terribly exotic flavor-wise (in fact, we found them pretty ordinary). I'm less sure about substitutions. We sure wish that we could have substituted something for the kids' appetizer - the only choice was a few leaves of lettuce with croutons and ranch dressing for $4. My 5yo wouldn't touch it (and I was bored by it).

3. Not sure about smoothies. As part of the dining plan, we were offered soft drinks, OJ, apple juice or Shirley Temples.

4. Depends on what time Wishes is at. It was at 6pm when we were there; our ADR was for 5:40pm and we had time to place our order before going out to watch the fireworks. A 9pm showing of Wishes may be harder - I'd get ressies around 8pm or later, although if you are waiting for your table, you can still go outside and watch the fireworks.

5. Yes.

Very accomodating, but I would strongly suggest trying the dishes as served. What's the point of second-guessing a fine chef?
3. Do they offer smoothies or other non-alcoholic drinks here?
Smoothies? No, I don't recall seeing anything like that. I believe they will make non-alcoholic versions of some mixed drinks though.
4. What is the best time to get a table to see Wishes from here?
About 90 minutes prior to the scheduled time for Wishes.
5. Is there still the outside balcony right off the restaurant to view Wishes?
Yes, so you can see Wishes even if you aren't seated near a window.

Thanks for your responses. I'm not a big root veggie fan, but noticed mashed potatoes offered in the kids menu, so I'm hoping to be able to get those instead. I'm not asking them to make something that's not on either menu.

Plan on viewing Wishes in the Magic Kingdom, but am planning on going to the California Grill on a MVMCP night to take pictures from up there, plus enjoy a great meal.

We were just there a few weeks ago and I asked for some mac and cheese with my filet instead of the vegetables...I'm a very picky person too:) and they were very accomodating. As for the fireworks, we made a reservation an hour prior to the show and we finished eating our meal, saw the fireworks, and then had dessert. It was pretty perfect.
