So my DH's office wants to do dinner at California Grill.... No problem right?

Wrong!

I have an extreme phobia of elevators-extreme enough that one summer I had to go to my therapy for my legs on the 12th floor-both legs were in soft casts at the same time- I used the stairs with my crutches for the whole summer for all 12 floors.

I'm guessing there is no other way up, right?

Also, how does it go with getting in the elevator? Do they wait until its completely full and take loads up at a time?

I would imagine there must be stairs - if only for fire safety reasons! I wonder if you could call CR and ask them directly?

If you can't take a few minutes in an elevator (it's an express so it's fast) I'd go somewhere else. I doubt if there is a way to walk up. But I guess it doesn't hurt to ask.

The ride up for us last week was about 15 seconds and I literally couldn't feel it moving at all. It was just our family of four, and another couple with the elevator attendant. They take you up as your reservation arrives, so only a few folks at a time. Take an Ativan before you go...great anxiolytic. Go and enjoy...the food is FABULOUS and the view is great!

The ride is super fast and how many people are in the car with you depends. I would be willing to bet if it was a people free car you needed they would accommodate that.
But if you are really bad with elevators period-there has to be stairs as a PP said-but Do you really want that kind of a workout before your meal :scared:

It's a nice time and if you can figure a way to make it work do try :)
Good luck!

If it helps the California Grill has their own specifc elevator which always goes up to there and it's loctaed on the 2nd floor of the Tower by their check-in desk, plus it doesn't stop on any of the floors when going up.

We went via stairs a few years ago. No problem. I'm sure they have accomodated people with this phobia before.
