I was just wondering if someone would be able to suggest some good apps and entrees at the California Grill. I love the menu and I can't seem to decide! I was also wondering if someone would be able to suggest some good wine to get that night as well. Thanks for the help! :)

tough thing with california grill suggestions, is that everything is seasonal so some of the favorites suggested aren't always on the menu.
Personally- i like to do sushi and flatbreads, and finish with a cheese course. While the entrees are good- i'd rather fill up on the sushi meals. Looking at all ears right now, here are some of our family favorites:

any of the flat breads are always a good bet
i like the tuna three way and the spicy kazan rolls which are usually always on the menu
the maine lobster risotto is to die for- if they have that, you have to get it. They also make a nice shrimp risotto app.
They are known for the goat cheese ravioli and while i love goat cheese- i wasn't a huge fan of these.

For dinner:
the pork tenderloin is one of their specialties- and it's pretty good
the ostrich filet is out of this world
the venison is great too (but not on this menu right now)
and the scallops are great
the filet is always a good choice as well

Dessert
never excites me- i would rather do a cheese course.

As for wine- also they change all the times. They are very good about helping you come up with some great choices so tell them what you like. They have a wonderful selection of wines.

We just ate there tonight. I had the bison and my wife had the scallops, both were great. We had some sort of crab sushi that my wife liked (I tried it, but I am not the sushi type). We had an apple crisp/ice cream type dessert that was ok. That being said, we ate at Napa Rose (in California) last year and we enjoyed California Grill much better.

For apps, the past two time I've gone, I've had the Lobster Risotto and the Heirloom tomato salad....both were excellent. My husband always gets sushi for an app and he's had the California Roll and the Tuna 3 Ways. Again, both were excellent, but I think the tuna was one of the best things I've ever had!

For an entree, you must try the Pork Tenderloin. It is one of the most delicious things I've ever had and I get it every time I'm there. Ending with the cheese plate is the perfect way to end the meal.

If you can, get the wine pairings as it really enhances the meal!

I've never been wowed by the entrees here but I enjoy the flatbreads, sushi and cheese plate.

Last time we were here, we enjoyed a bottle of Black Chicken.

We ate there on our September/October trip. The Sonoma Goat Cheese Ravioli was my most favourite food item during our month long trip, very closely followed by the sushi. I can 't remember what I had for a main. I remember it as being decent but it doesn't stand out.

I had the pork tenderloin and it was nothing short of fantastic.

My gf had the filet and I tried a bite. It was the best steak I've had since a trip to Chicago about 10 years ago when I ate at Harry Caray's.

We tried the Spicy Kazan Roll as an appetizer and it got two sets of two thumbs up! :)

Everything is great.

I love the goat cheese ravioli, as do many others. You can split that with another in your party so that you can order more appetizers without feeling bad!
The sushi is also excellent-every type!
The flatbreads are delicious.
Pretty much everything on the menu is great. I typically like the appetizers better than the entrees even, so make sure to try as many as you can!

Flatbreads are very good, and I almost always get the pork tenderloin for dinner.

I don't think you could wrong with anything on their menu. But remember the selection changes around, so something suggested on here now might not be there when you go.

My absolute favorite thing I've ever had at Cali Grill is the Risotto with Goat Cheese and Meyer Lemon Beurre Blanc. I've had it 2 ways - with Lobster and with Shrimp. I preferred the Shrimp, but I'm not big on Lobster.

One time I had an out of this world Curried Cauliflower soup. Haven't seen it on the menu ever again though.

The Ostrich Filet entree is excellent. I've seen it with 2 different preparations, but only tried one.

I'm not a pork fan, but most of the people I've been with are huge fans of the Pork Tenderloin, which is one of their signature dishes. I've never not seen it on the menu.

All of their desserts look amazing, but I keep going back to the Valrhona Molten Chocolate Cake. They pair it with something seasonal. I've had it with raspberry ice cream and sauce, and strawberry ice cream and sauce, and most recently, with peppermint ice cream and macerated cherries.

I once had a Chocolate Souffle dessert that was amazing, but I haven't seen it on the menu again yet.
