California Grill Question

I hoped to get a 5:30 ADR at California Grill during our March trip. The earliest I can get during our trip is 5:55. Will we be waiting for a table to leave to be seated or do they stagger ADR times so the wait staff isn't slammed with a full restaurant at once?

Thank you.

Disney stagger the times to keep the flow of people consistant but even though they use previous data to work out how many poeple per time slot it's still "best guess" as they can't be sure how long someone will take over dinner, and can only go with an average.

I imagine you won't wait long, if at all. But during a thunder storm I once waited for nearly an hour for a table to free up.

You just never know...

I agree with what the PP said, when we have 5:30 ADRs at Cali Grill, which is the first seating, there are only about 15 tables filled. It sort of fills in over the next half hour or so. Don't worry you will be fine with your ADR time.

Agree--5:55 (what an unusual reservation time!!) should be early enough so that there will be little or no wait.

It seems to be pretty standard for signatures. I was looking for as early as possible and got one for 5:40 and three for 5:55. I assume they just stagger the times so that they don't have a whole restaurant-full of people lining up to be seated right at 5:30 when they open.

to provide some relief for the hostesses, servers and kitchen. Service lags when any of these areas are hit at the same time.

You'll be fine.

I would also continue to check back and see if anything opens up. Many times when the 180 days open, people have been gobbling up the times but when the park hours are released they cancel.

Check-in at the 2nd floor desk at 5:30 and there's an extremely good chance that you'll be seated well before 5:55.

Based on the time I would think you will be seated right on time or maybe before. The only time I would say you have to wait is if you were going there on a major holiday, because a lot of the popular WDW restaurants get very crowded and you can have a long wait even with an ADR.

for the help. I'll keep trying to move our ADR time up, but I think we'll be fine if I can't.
