I've looked on the food link .... but, I can't seem to find them? Does anyone remember the post with the fab Cali Grill pics that were posted not long ago and know where I can find them? Not sure if it was part of a trip report or not?

That was it! Thanks so much ... this is where I'm taking DH. I knew I had seen them before some where. Thanks so much!

OOoh takes me right back - this is one of our must-do's on every trip. I'll take some pix when we're there next (8pm on 15 November, if you're passing....)

I wanna go to the California Grill!! :sad1:

When you go to the CG could you please tell us all about it? I'm really interested in dining here, but my OH is worried there'd be nothing he liked to eat....

Ooh so do I! But I think it might have to wait until it's just DH and I (too much strain on his wallet otherwise!!) ;)

What would you like to know? We eat here every trip so I might be able to answer a few questions.

Ditto - will of course do a detailed report but not for another 3 months and 2 weeks and 2 days (or whatever my ticker says today) - but I could prob answer some questions now.

Basically, do they serve anything along the lines of beef with bernaise sauce anymore? And what does it come with? He's fairly picky and is a little concerned about real French food...... Just any sort of examples of what they sell there!

Thank you so much ladies!! :flower3:

The food changes from season to season but I have seen steaks on the menu. It's not real French food they serve, I don't like French food at all but really enjoy this restaurant.

Last time I had a chicken dish with veg that was really nice, DH had some kind of pie (although it was not called a pie, it had a fancy name!!) The deserts are always really yummy, I always find it hard to choose! In the past I have had some nice fish dishes there before as well. There is always a good variety on the menu.

We will be eating there again in 3 months, I can't wait!!

As long as they do some sort of steaky-dish we're in with a chance!

Thanks!

I made reservations for 6 pm 23 Aug. Will give all the info & pics when we get back!

The first time we went the menu was all described as 'The Beef' 'The Chicken' 'The Trout' etc

given that's what people generally order from the waiter, I suppose. I mean, you don't say 'I'll have the oven-roasted corn-fed chicken breast on a bed of lightly sauteed leeks' do you?! you say 'I'll have the chicken'

Anyway the point of this was that one time I had 'the beef' - it was utterly and totally fabulous, fillet of beef, cooked beautifully and served with a choice of sauce.

Whilst the menu has changed since then (many times) there's always something simple and there's always something steak-ish.

Take him anyway - even if there's no steak, he's got to like SOMTHING, surely?!

When I met him he wouldn't drink water, or eat any vegetables, or potatoes. Or fish (He still won't touch fish as he is phobic of them!). Or anything spicy. Or anything really.

I've worked my magic though and he's now addicted to hot food, a few more types of potato, drinks water regularly, and will order salads when out (By choice!)....!

Saying all this I love him dearly and I wouldn't swap him for the world! :lovestruc

Sherette- Photos would be ace!! :goodvibes
