Hey Ya'll!

I'm a rather new vegetarian and this will be my first time eating in the world as one. Which would you recommend for dinner? Anyone have pictures of what they made you? (The sight of meat doesn't bother me...I'm only a vegetarian for medical reasons).

Any thoughts would be appreciated!

I would do CG. Search google images for 'california grill vegetarian' and you will see lots of pictures.

There is a dish called 'vegetarian unplugged' (that you have to request) that consists of 4 plates. I have read about it here but you will see pics if you google.

My daughter and her friend had the vegan and vegetarian unplugged last year, they both looked great but I didn't take pics. They had something from each area so one was something from the pizza oven, another was sushi station and I don't remember what the other 2 categories were on the plate. I never took my daughter to Ohana when she became a vegetarian and then a vegan. There is a FB group called Veg Disney, where they post pictures and talk about different options at the restaurants. I joined the FB group so that I can figure out what ADRs to book that will make my vegan teen and my hubby happy.

In addition to the salad, noodles and veggies with the regular 'Ohana meal, they also brought out this bread service and stir fry for the vegetarian in our group a couple of years ago.

If it looks like that picture above...that veggie stir fry looks amazing! However I still question the value.
the meats they serve are not that expensive either... chicken thigh, a cheap cut of beef and that size shrimp isn't so expensive either. I could not eat $40 worth of those things either. But it's a great meal and a great experience. I can feed myself and be quite full for 1/4 the price but it's not 'Ohana.

I don't think it's a question of "can a vegetarian eat at Ohana?" because a vegetarian CAN.

But CG is going to have a better selection and better food for said vegetarian.

I am vegetarian and have dined at both. Ohana does serve you hummus w/ pita chips as an app, the noodles and the veggies served to the table are veg and they will also bring you a veggie stirfry. CG has many options and they have also made me a special vegetarian plate before. Are you dining with anyone that has a preference? If so, since you will be able to have a good meal at either place, I'd maybe leave it up to others in your party. They both have very different options and very different atmospheres.

California Grill any day over 'Ohana - higher food quality and better options. If you don't care for the vegetarian entree on the menu the kitchen can make something else to accommodate. Plus a nice wine list/cocktails and the Wishes viewing deck (for early ADRs, you can return later if you keep your receipt).

Thank you all so much! I appreciate the help! I think I will go with Cali Grill for Easter Dinner. We are staying at Bay Lake, so it will be easier to get to and it looks like it should be delicious!

I'd also suggest The Wave. I had an amazing Vegetable Curry there last year. Very nice chef...accommodating. ...and their veggies are mostly locally grown. Very fresh.
