California Grill or Narccoosee's?

I am already thinking about ADRS for next July! DW and I will be at AKV for 11 nights. Since we will not be there for our anniversary next year, (schedules will not permit our usual F&W getaway) we want to celebrate our 15th anniversary early with a great dinner. We are deciding between California Grill and Narcoosee's. We have not been to either, but we no that they would both be tremendous.

I am just looking to see what my fellow Disers think.

W always like CG for special occasions and that fantastic VIEW! We have never had a bad meal there. We like the variety of the menu, and we also like to try the specials. Just be sure to tell them when you make your ADR that you are celebrating a special occasion.

In spite of our love of CG, I also think you'd do well by choosing Narcoossee's. I hear lots of people like Narcoossee's, and have read several reports by DISers who have been there for special occasions.

Jiko is a definite! Boma may happen as well. We love them both. WE never stayed at AKL, but have been to both. It will be great to be staying right there next time!

Definitely IMO Ca Grill is far superior.

The view, the food, the service, and the atmosphere are all better at CA Grill. This is not to say that Narcoossee's is bad - they're good. It's just that CA Grill is far superior.

If you are a lobster person, however, I don't believe CA Grill has it on the menu whereas Narcoossee's does.

I agree-to just pick one it would be CG. They have better appetizers, and our service there has been better than at Narcoossee's.

Have celebrated special occasions at both. We love Narcoosees, but CG is really in a class by itself!

I would suggest CG. We have had many anniversary dinners that were really fantastic.

Another CG vote For me, the food is a bit better and the atmosphere and service are WAY better at CG. I also like Narcoossee, just a little bit less than CG

I have recently heard good things about Narcoosees and I hope they are true. That restaurant has a fantastic location and I think the atmosphere is great. I haven't eaten there in a couple of years but I have always been disappointed with both the food and the service.

We eat at California Grill a LOT (as well as Flying Fish and Jiko) and we have never had a bad experience there. The space is getting a bit dated but it has a real urban buzz. You obviously can't beat the view and the food is top notch.

My husband and I just tried California Grill for the first time in October. I wanted to go somewhere special for my birthday and had heard lots of good things. I must say it did not disappoint. My husband wasn't involved in the planning of where we would be eating so he wasn't sure what to expect; I just told him he needed to dress nice for this dinner . He was very impressed with the food and the view, and I loved everything about it. The service is great, the food and wine are great, and the view at sunset is gorgeous!! I already have reservations for our January trip and I am so excited to have the Hurricane Roll again. OMG, if you like sushi, you must try the Hurricane Roll at CG it is so yummy!! After dinner we walked out onto the terrace to watch Wishes and take some pictures; we decided right then and there to add CG to our list of "must dos" for every trip.

Definately go with CG, the food there is the best at Disney IMHO and the view is just priceless. My DH and I went there this past June for the first time and we both said that this restaurant is going to be a definate must go-to whenever we come back....unfortunately we will not have the ILs to watch the kiddies the next time we go back.

FYI--try to get seated at around opening because that is the best chance for you to get a seat at the window. If you want to come back and see Wishes, then just show the check-in desk your receipt from your dinner and they will allow you to go back up to watch and to have a drink at the bar.

Just ate at Narccoosee's Monday night. Excellent meal and excellent service!!!!
