California Grill or Le Cellier

As is, CG of course, who knows what LeCellier will be like when it goes to 2 credits. Doubt it will be in the CG ballpark, though.

Is there a specific dress code for CG, we will probably be spending the day in magic kingdom then go straight to CG rather than having to go back to SSR to get changed for dinner.:goodvibes

2 votes here for Cali Grill. Try the flat bread, and all the other items mentioned (pork, for example). I enjoyed a nice filet there, I recall.

It will be interesting to see how much they "up the ante" at Le Cellier to justify 2 credits. It's only "ok" in my opinion, with the cheddar soup the only outstanding item on the menu. California Grill, on the other hand, is a truly spectacular restaurant, from the view to the cuisine.

The two restaurants are not remotely comparable.

CG foods good, the waitstaff great and the feel of being up so high above Disney is great if you have ressies at 9 you will still be there to see the fireworks :thumbsup2

I would do the California Grill. The food, service and views are all amazing, and I enjoy eating at the resorts more than eating in the parks, even if it takes a little bit of travel time. It feels more relaxed to get away from the park and enjoy a meal.

We have been to both of these restaurants many times. Actually we make ADRs for both EVERY trip.

We love the mushroom filet at Le Cellier as well as some other menu items like the cheese soup, pretzel bread, etc. But now that they are scheduled to become a signature dining experience, I just don't see the "experience" in it. Don't get me wrong, we love dining there, we just don't consider it an "experience".

Now the Cali Grill is another story. We do consider it a dining "experience" when we dine there. The cuisine is excellent; from the sushi which is top notch to the desserts, which are heavenly. The signature pork entree is tender and tasty and the scallops during our last visit there were some of the best we have EVER had. The menu is forever changing which adds to a new dining "experience" every visit. The flat breads and lobster risotto is a must have as well. Did I mention the sushi?! The Spicy Kazan and the Tuna Three Ways are fantastic.

Now with all the rave reviews of the above metioned menu items, add a spectacular view across the Magic Kingdom (especially at sunset as mentioned by a previous poster) and the magic of Wishes pixiedust:and you will have certainly had a dining "experience".

Obviously my vote goes to CG. ::yes::

Thank you so much! We just did an ADR for Valentine's night and I am so excited! This will be our first time eating here.

With out a doubt CG, the food is amazing! You must try the Lobster Risotto its just crazy!:thumbsup2

Yes, there is a bit of a dress code, just like any of the Signature Restaurants. Can't find a link right now, but basically no cut-off's, men can't wear tank tops, no ripped clothing, etc.

When we ate there, we did dress up a little bit, and it looked like a lot of the other diners were dressed up too.

There really isn't a comparison. Cali grill is fine dining, le cellier is not. LC is okay , steaks to me are not great. CG is very very good. My favorite on property.

Ditto!

You are absolutely right! California grill. No comparison.

No prob! We are having dinner there in the 15th for our anniversary!!! Too bad I didn't schedule our ADR for the night before cause we could have met for a pre dinner cocktail and celebrated together! :drinking1

I hope you have a wonderful Valentine's Day meal. We are having dinner at Narcoossees that night.
