We have booked to visit Disney next year and have the disney dining plan, I understand that Le cellier is now a 2 table service, we have been to Le cellier in the past and absolutely loved it but we have never tried the california grill which is also a 2 table service, i'm not sure which one to book as i dont want to book them both now le cellier is 2 table service , is the california grill worth a visit?

Now that they are both 2 TS, I say definately try California Grill! The food there is very good, usually the service there is too, and it's just a completely different experience from Le Cellier. There is something on the menu for everyone. It is really beautiful at sunset and you can watch Wishes from the observation deck no matter what time your dinner is, just bring back your dinner receipt. It's fun to do at least once.

Love Le Cellier too, just would recommend to try CG once!
Enjoy whatever you go with!

We've done Le Cellier lots of times and always enjoy it. But last month, we tried California Grill for the first time. SO GOOD! I would highly recommend trying it. Pick a later dinner time and you can watch the fireworks from up there! You'll love it!

(Even if you have an earlier dinner time, you can still come back and show your reciept in order to watch the fireworks later, but who wants to have to go twice?)

Le Cellier will be 2 table service credits for dinner only starting March 1, 2011. It will still be one credit for lunch.

I would say Cali grill without a doubt!

Having ate at both on my most recent trip...(got back 3 days ago), I don't think that they are even on the same level.

There really isn't a comparison. Cali grill is fine dining, le cellier is not. LC is okay , steaks to me are not great. CG is very very good. My favorite on property.

IMHO, CG's main strength are the sushi appetizer's so if your are on the regular DP it is not as good a deal. Personally, I don't feel any restaurant is worth 2 credits on the regular DP. Of course, that wasn't the question, so just ignore me.:rotfl:

We have been to both of these restaurants many times. Actually we make ADRs for both EVERY trip.

We love the mushroom filet at Le Cellier as well as some other menu items like the cheese soup, pretzel bread, etc. But now that they are scheduled to become a signature dining experience, I just don't see the "experience" in it. Don't get me wrong, we love dining there, we just don't consider it an "experience".

Now the Cali Grill is another story. We do consider it a dining "experience" when we dine there. The cuisine is excellent; from the sushi which is top notch to the desserts, which are heavenly. The signature pork entree is tender and tasty and the scallops during our last visit there were some of the best we have EVER had. The menu is forever changing which adds to a new dining "experience" every visit. The flat breads and lobster risotto is a must have as well. Did I mention the sushi?! The Spicy Kazan and the Tuna Three Ways are fantastic.

Now with all the rave reviews of the above metioned menu items, add a spectacular view across the Magic Kingdom (especially at sunset as mentioned by a previous poster) and the magic of Wishes pixiedust:and you will have certainly had a dining "experience".

Obviously my vote goes to CG. ::yes::

Id say try the CG!! Order the pork entree and youll just fall in love!! Very tasty!!

I'd go with Cali Grill if you're looking for a 2 signature experience...we don't yet know what the menu changes will be at Le Cellier when it goes 2 TS for dinner. At least with booking Cali Grill you'll know what's on the menu now!

I like Le Cellier very much but given the choice go with Cali Grill.

Those are our 2 favorite restaurants and we do both all the time. Cali Grill is so worth the 2 credits because of the food, atmosphere, service, and the view that you get. Le Cellier is worth it because the food is outstanding and we have never had a bad service. Like another PP had mentioned, if you go for lunch it will remain a 1 credit, dinner only changed to 2 credits. We only ever go for lunch so it will not bother us either way. Enjoy :goodvibes

It remains to be seen exactly what we'll get when Le Cellier becomes 2 credits. They'll need a lot of improvement in food quality and decor to justify such a step.
California Grill would easily be my choice---.

Thanks guys, I guess there is no doubt about it we will definately have to book California Grill, it sounds magical being able to watch the fireworks from up there!:yay:

California Grill is at the TOP of our list - excellent food, service and view of the MK fireworks - absolutely wonderful! :thumbsup2

Not sure why but we had just a so-so experience at Le Cellier

No comparison between the two. California Grill has much better food and class of service is second to none. Therefore, California Grill.

Absolutly California Grill! Le Cellier is nice enough for what it is, but California Grill is amazing, and there's just no comparision.
