California Grill or Flying Fish?

I've been to California Grill and LOVED IT! I can't decide if I should return to my old favorite or give Flying Fish a try. It gets such great reviews and we're staying at Beach Club so it's closer. Which would you pick?

My current faves are Cali Grill #1 and FF #2. To avoid the transportation hassle, I think you would be very happy with FF.

Love Cali Grill but would definatley want to give FF a try. Heard all good.

I rank FF #1 of those on Dining Plan (5th overall). Ca Grill is 3 behind FF. If it wasn't for the sushi, it would rank 4 behind.

I love both places. I can understand that not going to your favourite restaurant is hard, but I would encourage you to try something new. I think the chance that you are dissappointed will be small compared to the chance that you find a new favourite!

I also love being able to walk back to my room after a meal without getting a car/bus/boat/monorail involved.

We did both in August and unanimously preferred CG by a pretty significant margin. Not to say we didn't like FF, we liked it a LOT, but CG was off the charts, for us, anyway. Having said that, I'm really glad we tried FF. The atmosphere was very fun and the appetizers were out-of-this-world! I might get 2 appies next time I go back. If you go to FF, try the steak. I was a little disappointed in the signature snapper, but DH's steak was yummy. Service was equally outstanding at both places. If I were you, I'd choose FF for this trip to try something new and for the comfortable walk back "home."

I like California Grill, but love Flying Fish. It's my favorite among the signatures. I like their steak better than any I've ever gotten at Yachtsman, but also love their scallops with risotto. California Grill has really great appetizers (sushi, flatbreads, salads, cheese plate, etc) but other than the pork tenderloin I'm not that fond of their entrees.

+1 to this. We ate at FF on a trip about a month ago and it was wonderful!

We ALWAYS do California Grill. When we went in January a close friend recommended FF & we LOVED it! We have definitely added this to favorites list. Give it a try since you have not done it before.

California Grill is impossible to get into. When I booked my ADRs a few weeks ago for late May, there was nothing except 9 or 9:30. I tried tonight for 5/24 (as a replacement for Kouzzina) and again, nothing except 9:30. I enjoyed it a great deal when I went years ago - too bad I won't be able to try it on this trip

I've eaten at both Cali Grill and FF. I would DEFINITELY choose Cali Grill, both for the food and the atmosphere!!!!

Of the two restaurants we prefer Flying Fish.
