California Grill Lounge Question

Is there food available in the lounge? We have an upcoming reservation for 8 people. A 9th person will be playing golf and originally was not put on the reservation because he said he couldn't make it on time. Now he wants to come up and have a drink and maybe an appetizer with us. Disney dining could not change the reservation to 9 but they said he can come up to the lounge. My question is will he be able to get food in the lounge and do you think CG might let him "pull up a chair" and have a drink with us at the table?

I hope you get an answer. I am also wondering how the lounge at CG "works." I was under the impression that only people with ADRs could go up that elevator to the actual restaurant/lounge. But then I saw people going into the lounge,, just for drinks, without ADRs. I would like to do this on our next trip. That view is spectacular!

I understand that you can go up to the lounge if you don't have an ADR. You have to check at the 4th floor desk, and they will call up and see if there is room in the lounge. If there is, they'll have you taken up.

But if the lounge is full, you can't get in.

No idea about whether or not you can order food.

I believe you can order food. But if memory serves, the few tables are "lounge like"--very low and probably quite uncomfortable for a full meal. Also-if CG is very busy, you may find a long wait before you can find anyone to serve you. At our last meal at CG ( they let us up early) there were no lounge tables available and we couldn't find anyone to even get us a drink.
And the lounge isn't all that big, and it sits smack dab in the middle of the restaurant. Not very comfy-cozy.
