California Grill - great!

We have eaten at CG on our last two visits and loved it both times. The food and atmosphere are fantastic. We went last Sept. on my wife's birthday and had a really wonderful evening.

Hi MomlovesDad!! Welcome to the DIS. No, you don't need to have park admission or be staying at the Contemporary to eat at the California Grill. DH and I will be dining there on May16, and have PS for 7:30. We are really looking forward to it.

Thanks TeresaNJ. I read in one guidebook that you can even bypass the restaurant and go through the lounge to get to the balcony to see the show. I hate to "take up space" without contributing to the business, so I wondered if anyone ever goes to the restaurant just for desert? We would leave a great tip, of course, but I think it may be too late for my 9 & 12 yo to eat such a big meal. Anyone ever done this with PS? Thanks again!

When we went last year, they wouldn't allow people to walk thru the restaurant and out onto the deck... They asked for your PS reservation first. Perhaps there's another way to get out there, but the view you get by going thru the restaurant exit is the best. Not sure if you could make a PS ressie just for dessert either, though that's something I'd inquire about... Their desserts are wonderful!!

This is my absolute favorite restaurant at WDW. The food, service and atmosphere are top-notch. The view of the MK fireworks is just awesome! If you eat at the far end of the restaurant, you can also see the Epcot fireworks as well, which we did during our last trip.

My mom and I took my oldest DS there for dinner on Valentine's Day a few years ago when he was only 5 and he had a great time! They gave him two roses to give to my mom and me at the end of the meal -- it made him feel like such a little gentleman!!

This restaurant is truly fabulous. I highly recommend it to anyone who appreciates fine dining!!
