California Grill Fireworks viewing

I was reading this thread this morning and dreaming about having dinner here....so I went ahead and booked it for my birthday on August 3rd!!! Wishes is at 11pm that night so I booked for 9:20...hope this works out well....I can't wait!!! Happy Birthday to me!

The pictures really make me anxious to go! I just made ADRs at California Grill in September, on a night when Wishes is at 8:00. I chose 6:10. With the free dining, I'm expecting it to be VERY busy so I'm figuring they'll be running a little late. Then I plan to linger over my meal (I'll be solo, so maybe I'll bring a book or something). And if I do get done a little early, I'll just head out onto the balcony until Wishes starts. Originally, I had ressies at 7:20, but I was so afraid that they'd be running quite a bit behind and I'd be sitting on the second floor, panic-ing about being up there in time to see Wishes, so I decided to err on the side of being early!

remember to allow a little extra time so that you can request a nice window table. You may have to sit at the bar for a few minutes, but if you are wanting to see the fireworks, a window table is great.

Even if you dont get a window table, the balconey in my opinion is the best spot to view the fireworks, we had a great table but we went outside anyways and it was breathtaking.

Hi everyone, I was happy to find this thread. The only ADR available was for 9:50pm and wishes starts at 10pm. I'm guessing I will just watch from the balcony? I doubt they will be able to seat me in time for wishes?

What do you think? Should I arrive earlier to see if I can get seated sooner?

thanks!

CA Grill is probably my faaavorite place to eat there, and particularly with the fireworks viewing. I usually make the ADR for about the time the fireworks start--my feeling is that if you make it for anywhere within about an hour before the fireworks, you're going to wind up either waiting forever (because no one will leave until the fireworks end) or not getting a good view from your table anyway.

We usually get there 10-15 minutes before the fireworks, check-in, walk out to the deck and watch the fireworks. Then we're usually seated immediately after the fireworks (often with a window table,) as there is a mass exodus of people who have been stuck eating for 3 hours waiting for the show.

In any combination, however, it's great. Be sure to have the chocolate souffle cake, if you enjoy such things--mmmm!

We have a ressie for Cali Grille for 8 on a night where Wishes starts at 10. Is that too early? :confused3

We had an 8:10 ADR amd wishes was at 10:00. It was fine for us. We were a party of seven, had appy's and the entree before WIshes, ans dessert and coffee after.
