We are going during FD and fireworks at that time are at 10:00. What time is best to book for dinner at Cg. This is the day we are coming from Universal morning. We are staying one night at a universal area hotel and doing a day and a half at universal studios so we won't be getting to WdW til around 3:00 so a late seating is ok. Right now we have ressies for 9:00 pm as this is what the Csr recommended but it sounds crazy. I want to change it but am wondering what time to shoot for.

We had reservations for 8pm. We ate very leisurely. By the time we finished dessert, people were going outside to view the fireworks. It worked out well because once Wishes was over, we left. The restaurant was still pretty crowded when we left. Enjoy your dinner there. It was awesome!:yay:

We had adr for 9:30pm on xmas night 2006 and wishes was scheduled for 9:00pm. We arrived at 8:45 and were brought right up and seated early. we had a great videw from our table, but many folks went out to the observation deck to view. If you are up at the restaurant or lounge, you can go on the deck to view.

When we went we made our reservations about an hours before the fireworks. We let our server know we wanted to enjoy the fireworks and he was able to time our whole dinner around the fireworks. I would not make your reservations at the same time or within 1/2 hours. The CG starts to run behind during this timeframe.

We had reservations for 9:20 and arrived around 9:00. They sent us up but there was nowhere to sit so we wandered around out on the observation deck for 10 minutes until our table was ready. We had time to order our meal, try some of the great tastes of wine (they allow you try a small selection before you choose!) and finished our appetizers just when the fireworks were ready to begin. Unfortunately, they brought out our soup and salad so I let me soup get cold while I went out to watch the fireworks. Fabulous! The soup was still very good but I wish they would have held it a few more minutes to accomodate the fireworks. We could have seen them from our table but it was much better outside. As long as the weather is nice, I think you'll want to venture out.
I guess I'm saying you should try for a bit earlier or a bit later. But, of course, I suppose it will always depend on the wait. There was a family of five there that was furious they had been waiting for 30 minutes while hubby and I were seated almost immediately. Just the luck of the draw. But it looked as though there were many table there who had already finished their meal and were just hanging out until fireworks. I think if you get too close to time, you take a chance you will not get to even be seated until after the fireworks.
