Can anyone tell me about how much time we should allow for dinner at CA Grill? My husband and I have a 5:30 reservation and tickets for the MVMCP, which starts at 7:00. Do you think we'll be close to on time for 7:00? Thanks!

I would not eat at California Grill before the party. You can get into the party at 4pm so I would plan on getting to the park earlier and enjoy the rides then sdo you can concentrate on party things during the party instead of rides. A dinner at CG can take anywhere for 1-2 hours depending on how quickly you order and eat and how many courses you choose to have but I enjoyed taking my time on the meal.

DH and I have been to Cali Grill three times and each time it was at 5:30 (we booked Oct for that time too!) We prefer the earlier time so we can get a window seat and then head to MK for a party night or EMH hours.

All three times we were in and out of the place in under 2 hours. Its just a short walk to MK or you can opt for the monorail but it takes a bit longer

Depending on if you plan on ordering drinks first, appetizers, main course, dessert, etc, dinner could take anywhere from 1-2 hours. I don't think you will have a problem eating at CG and then heading to the party. You can walk to MK from the Contemporary, so you don't have to wait for transportation ;)

I would not plan on eating at CG and doing MVMCP in the same night.

In order to enjoy your time at CG, I would plan on two hours. You don't want to be rushed.

And since you're paying extra for the party, I would want to get my money's worth and be there at 4pm when they start admitting people! Even if you didn't want to get there until 7pm, I think a CG ressie at 5:30 is a bad idea.

I also agree with the PP that said to not eat at CG before the party. When we went to MVMCP we ate dinne at a CS restaurant and then headed for the rides before the actual party started. However, when we went to MNNSHP we did have ADRs for CRT at 4pm but we still got out early enough to enjoy the rides before the actual party started. Don't get me wrong, we love CG (a must do for us) and we always get the earliest seating possible which is at 5:30pm....we love watching the sun set over MK and also watching everything still going around MK (you can see the logs going down the flume on Splash and also watch the rockets whirl around on Astro orbitor). Good luck deciding.
