So my wife and I are planning a relaxing day in the middleof the trip. The afternoon/evening will be pool time followed by Disney Springs for snacks/drinks at multiple places. So the question is, how do we start the day? Boma for breakfast or California Grill brunch? The brunch sounds amazing obviously but I would be interested to hear from people that have done both. We are staying at Kidani Village and have done dinner at Boma (absolutely loved it).

Having only eat dinner at Boma but Sunday Brunch at CG, I would pick brunch at California Grill. The food is excellent and the view is great.

I'm not sure traveling to/from Contemporary constitutes a 'relaxing day'.

Food wise, Boma is something unique since they offer 'exotic' flavors that you previously enjoyed for dinner.

CA Grill is a Signature food experience with the 'exotic' flair of sushi, but offers an incomparable view of MK.

Maybe this helps your calculus - would you travel to Boma if staying at Contemporary?

I think I'd go with CG brunch. That would give you the opportunity to easily do a monorail shop around the seven seas lagoon.

Transportation wise this works out really well as you could simply take the bus from AKL to the MK and walk to the Contemporary for brunch, being sure to allow enough time before your ADR. Then after brunch hop the resort monorail to the Poly for some shopping, on to the GF for more shopping and perhaps a beverage, then on to the MK to catch a bus back to AKL.

I travelled to Boma from Pop Century on our arrival day last trip. I don't find taking one bus and going for a 5 minute walk to be stressful so yeah...relaxing

We have gone to both and they are wonderful . I would say go for Brunch. The food and view are amazing and you can go back to watch the fireworks at night, you just need to save your receipt.

We did the CG brunch on Father's Day. While it was good, I don't think I would do it again. The menu (according to our server) had just changed. If I remember correctly, there were 4 different types of pancakes and French toast. Seemed to be going to lower cost carbs instead of protein. (Menus I had seen online before typically had 2 carb options and more protein options.) I had the shrimp and grits and it was very tasty but came with 2 shrimp. For $80, I would expect at least 4. The menu said they were U-10 shrimp. I don't think so. My husband had some chicken dish with a sweet and spicy sauce that he did not finish. The highlight for us was the eggs Benedict with lobster but our server said it was being removed from the menu in the next few weeks. The view is lovely but I find the Contemporary dated and not nearly as pretty as some other resorts. I have never done Boma for breakfast. Wish Jiko had a brunch!

I did the CG Brunch in March and found it a great experience with a very relaxing atmosphere. BOMA breakfast buffet, in contrast was much noisier and a bit more frantic in feel given the larger numbers of people. My reservation was for 11.15 at CG, so my personal tummy was more able to cope with a bigger meal (and the bottomless mimosas included with the meal) than it would have been at an earlier BOMA reservation. It did wipe me out, food-wise, for the rest of the day and I don't think that I would have been able to take on a bar and appetizer evening at Disney Springs on the same day.

We thought California Grill Brunch was Really good. I didn't love the buffet selection so I was able to order 2 entrees no problem. We had unlimited mimosas too. All the food was very good. I haven't done Boma breakfast though but I think the menu at California Grill is much more special.
