California Grill and Fireworks

DH and I are going (kid-free) for our Anniversary this May. Thought I read once about being able to see the MK Fireworks from CG?? If this is possible, do I have to make a special res to get a table with a view?

You can request a window seat when you arrive at the podium to check in; they will not reserve them for you ahead of time. And because everyone requests a window seat, there's a good chance you will not get one, even for an anniversary as we all go there for the same thing. However, CG has 2 viewing platforms where you actually walk out of the restaurant and stand and that's what everyone who isn't at a window seat does.

It's a spectacular view of them. I think it's better than being at the park itself. We do it every trip.

As Pakey said, you cannot reserve a view in advance. You can try to request at the podium and then hope you get it.

We had dinner there during fireworks last year and though we didn't have a window seat we went to the viewing deck and it was great. If I had a choice I'd ask to sit at the chefs' counter so you can watch the them cook. Supposedly they slip you samples to try.

I wouldn't worry too much about a window seat. I think you can see much better out on the platform anyway. Take a glass of wine out there and enjoy!

If the fireworks are scheduled for 9 pm, what would be a good time to get a reservation? Is 7:30 pm too early?

This is exactly how we time ours. We always have an appetizer before our entrees and we usually see the fireworks in between our entree and dessert.

In my experience, they are very good about planning food presentation around the show...they know why everyone is there at that time. Anytime 730 right up until 9, whatever is available should be okay.
