We have booked a party of six for dinner at the California Grill in the Contemporary Hotel for 8pm. Is it likely we will be able to remain at the table and therfore get a good view of the park fireworks?

what time are the fireworks that night? If its 10, then I would say yes. We have reservations for 8:45 for a night when they are at 9...i am hoping to see them too.

It also depends on were your table is some have a better view than others.

Your meal at CG is a nice leisurely pace unlike other wdw restaurants. We ate there on xmas night last year and had adr for 9:30 and Wishes was scheduled for 9pm. We got there around 8:50 and we actually seated early and had a great view of wishes(did not ask for it, just happened). We were also told to take our time and go out to the observation area to watch if we wanted. We had DDP so we all got apps, entree and dessert and didn't leave until almost 11pm. By the way, the meal was one of the best we have had at WDW in our many trips! Even if you finish meal early, anyone can go to the observation area to watch once you are at the restaurant. Have fun.

We have eaten at CG the past 2 years and love it! We are going back again this fall! If the fireworks are at 10 you will be able to see them! Our meals here have taken about 2+ hours so you should not have a problem. They are nice and relaxing. The server will know that you probably want to stay to see Wishes so they are helpful also. We usually have our dessert come out right around Wishes time and it is jsut perfect! Enjoy we love CG!!!

I recall tables for 4 by the windows, so perhaps the table for 8 will be more in the centre of the room. (unless they move tables together?) You might have to go out to the observation area for a good view, but that only takes a moment to do, and it's fun out there inthe fresh air.

How are they about seating you on time? I've always avoided this place because I was afraid I'd have to wait way past my ADR time for the fireworks crowd. I made my ressie early, thinking to avoid that but then they moved Wishes up my night!

We were there last week and had an early reservation (finished eating at 6:30). They just told us to hold onto our receipt and come back before 10 pm and show it to the check-in hostess and they'd bring us back up to the restaurant to view the fireworks. We had every intention of doing that, but after walking around MK for awhile we got tired and went back to the resort and never did see the fireworks! Now that I'm home, I regret that we didn't make the extra effort. The view is wonderful (we had a window seat).
Have fun on your trip.
