California Grill and fireworks timing question

Is it still possible to hit the bar area at the California grill and.. hey! what do you know!... see the fireworks. If so, what time do I need to belly up to the bar?

I've only heard about doing this and have never tried it. I don't want to waste my time on a Saturday night trying to do this if it's no longer allowed or just ridiculous to try it.

I have not been to the bar for fireworks, but have made reservations twice to see them. And both times our reservation was one hour before the show was scheduled and it worked out perfectly.

You don't need to "time" your visit to to the bar to coincide with the MK fireworks order to view the fireworks from the Contemporary Resort's top-floor viewing area.

Guests who have visited the top floor bar (or restaurant) any time that day/evening, can
go to the top floor to see the MK fireworks.
