California Grill and Fireworks--MVMCP?

Okay, I may be a Disney vet (not compared to some of you!), but I'm new to California Grill. I understand the way to go is to try to time your meal with fireworks.

With the hours for December now out, I can see that MK closes fairly early many of the nights we'll be there. However, my question is this--are their fireworks associated with MVMCP, and, if so, is the music piped into California Grill like "normal" Wishes?

While this will be a big family trip (my parents + our 2 kids), I'd like to sneak away for a "nice" anniversary dinner with my wife. I'm struggling with where to go, and am starting to think that I should just bite the bullet and do CG. But if I do that, I really want to maximize our experience. I have about 36 hours to decide...

There are fireworks associated with MVMCP, however, I don't know if the music is piped into CG like it is with Wishes. I can, however, tell you that it is really a nice experience to watch the fireworks from high atop the CR. The food and service are OUTSTANDING, I highly recommend it.

I just had dinner last week at CG. The food was expensive but amazing. It was by far the best dinner I have ever eaten at WDW. I really can't help you with the fireworks with MVMCP. We did watch Wishes on the overlook. It was fantastic.

I was actually wondering this myself. We're going to try to get ressies for the first night of our honeymoon, and I too had read that they pipe the music in and I wondered the same as you.

For both MNSSHP and MVMCP, they pipe in the music for the special fireworks.

During MVMCP times, they will run "regular" wishes at park closing (usually ~6pm). And, you also have the opportunity to see Holiday Wishes, which in the past has been at 9:30pm.

We really like to have our CG reservation just before the scheduled fireworks. Then we arrive about 20 minutes early, go up to the bar, get a glass of wine, and stand outside on the balcony atop CR to watch the fireworks. Then we go back in and are usually seated within 10 minutes, as all the parties waiting for the fireworks at the end of their meal are ready to leave. :) That way, we don't have to worry about getting a window table.

Pretty much the whole restaurant stops during the fireworks.

I think CG is still my favorite restaurant at Disney, and we've tried almost all of them!

At the California Grill you will have a great view of the fireworks and the music is piped in, but only in the waiting area.

Okay, my next question was going to be--what time are the Holiday Wishes fireworks? Sounds like 9:30.

So the music is not piped into the actual restaurant? Only the waiting area? Is it beneficial to try to get a window table anyway? Can you request that?
