We are headed to wdw next week and have ressies at California grill. Can we order dessert and coffees only and then go out on the deck to see the wishes show? I just don't know if we can eat that late for a full meal.

They don't care if you order a full meal, or just appetizers or drinks, or dessert and coffee. They are a resort that caters to so many guests in a "captive audience" setting, nobody will judge you for not ordering a full meal there. ;)

I hope that reassured you.

I have done the same many, many times. No problem. And, I have never had a reservation.

We have never eaten here beacuse of our kids and the menu.
Has anyone taken their kids to California Grill ? My girls are 10 and 4.
We would just order some appetizer and desserts.
Have a table booked at 7:40 on a Wishes night in Sept.

You see many children in there.

Can anyone tell me what the dress code is there now.

Years ago we were not able to dine there - cause my ex forgot a jacket.
Hoping to finally get a ressie here this trip.

I don't think their desserts are terribly impressive. I end up with a kids ice cream usually.

I agree... CG is one of my favorite restaurants, but if their peanut butter gelato isn't the seasonal flavor... I have a tough time--too fancy for me. I'm a cake and ice cream girl.

Their flatbreads are great to share and maybe you'll like the options there :) Enjoy the fireworks!!

I'm with Nala. While the appetizers here are pretty impressive, the desserts have never been great and got worse once the dining plan standardized things.

Suggested dress code is business casual. Enforced dress code is no bathing suits, hats on men, torn clothing. It's not likely that you will see any men dressed in jackets.

We have been taking our kids here for many years, I am not even sure how young they were the first time, but I know they were both under 10 as they ordered from the kids menu. It has always been one of DS (17) favorite resturants.

As the pp said there are always many kids up there. The staff has always been more than accomodating. Appetizers and/or desserts only is not a problem.

Enjoy your trip! :goodvibes
