I just had to ask who is from California on here. We know 6 other owners, 5 are gay, one is a good friend who bought sight unseen at the Disneyland office.
We are in Agoura Hills, about an hour from Disneyland, and usually go on a Sunday.

I know this doesn't count, as I live in Texas now, but I was born in Compton and grew up in Lynwood, graduated High School in Palmdale :)

My partner and I live in the west San Fernando Valley. We, too, bought sight unseen at the Disneyland office (before they added a full-sized model) and did our first add-on before visiting WDW last January. We have since gone a little over the top, making home resorts of OKW, BWV, and VWL for the 11-month booking window.

October will be our second trip to WDW following the 2006 DVC Members Cruise. In for a penny, in for a pound!

We still try to find time to squeeze in visits to Cabo and Puerto Vallerta, too, though Disney may take a larger share of our time in a couple of years.

My partner and I have 300 points at OKW. We live in Los Angeles would love to meet other glbt DVC owning Californians!

Larry

We have 290 points at VWL over 4 contracts.
We have 46 points in a holding account left over that expire in Aug. I am going to try and get the Grand Californian theme park ,pool view for 44 points one weekend night in Aug. , and let the 2 points expire.
Wish us luck, as getting reservations on a 60 day notice has been impossible since Jan.

Actually, on 7/14 we booked a DCA view room at the Grand Californian for this Saturday on points, so it can be done, Frank.
Good luck with your ressie!

Got it. I called today and booked the last Sat. in Aug. using 44 points.
It sure would be nice to have a DVC at or near DLR to save on points when one wants to spend the weekend there.

Amen, Frank. Forty-four points a night for a hotel room is rather stiff compared to the price of the roughly equivalent studios at WDW!

Have you noticed the clearing work going on near the strawberry field on Harbor Boulevard about a block south of Katella?

No, I hadn't heard of the clearing being done. But I have heard rumors that a DVC was greenlit for there. I can't wait to see the full size mockup DVC model they built near the hotels.

Likewise; it's supposed to be decorated a la SSR. And since everything except OKW is about the same, changing it to represent a new DVC property (whenever that happens) should only be a matter of redecorating.

We're thinking of going over to say hello to our guide while we're there this weekend (and checking out the model) as it's just a short walk from the GCalifornian.

Glad you got your ressie, btw.
