Hi,

We are considering buying the SS and today, the rep called and said that since we bought the DVC from california, we can not take the incentive of the points from december 2004. Does anyone hear about this? Is there anyone who bought SS and is california resident? Thanks a lot for all your help.

I'm a buyer from California. Late last October, I did an add on, over the phone with my rep, to take advantage of the 2 free AP's they were giving out and the $10 pp discount. Not sure why this current incentive would be considered a problem. I'd push your guide and have them do some more research.

Can't offer any help on the immediate question regarding incentives ... but we live in CA and purchased SSR in April 2004. (Purchased through DVC in FL ... not through the sales offices in CA.)

My guess is that there is a California law that prohibits those kinds of sales incentives for timeshares. I know some states have laws about timeshare incentives that seem a bit strange. Here in Minnesota, we can't get the referral bonus.

Thanks for all the replies. My rep said that Disney has to pay some extra tax for California. Does any one of you know if DVC need to pay special taxes for Californian's purchasing properties within DVC deed or contract?
She offered the Dec 2004 points and 8 dollars discount to us originally, then call back and said no, she can't give us the 2004 points and offer a 10 dollars discount on the points. I really want the 2004 discount.
Thanks.

Wendy
