Has anyone ever traded DVC to stay in Cali before?

Just put in a request for 4 Seasons, North San Diego and am wondering what my chances are.

DW and I stayed at DL and White Swan in SF a few years ago, but now am looking for a week stay somewhere with our 4 year old.
