Hi, I'm new here and just sign up because I saw lots of great posts with great information about Disney.

I'm planning to have my wedding in 2013 and I know it is a bit early but I also know the planning does take time so I decided to start early. I'm a huge Disney fans so I decided to check out their wedding packages. I personally like a small wedding, so the Escape collection sounds really good. But the information on the Disney website is very limited, so maybe I can get some help here :goodvibes

I want some suggestions as to which cermony to choose from. I saw the Brisa courtyard but I heard Disney will not block the walkway for the ceremony so people will be walking there. I want a location with more privacy. Does anyone know if the 3 course meal offered in the Escape collection is going to be a indoor thing or outdoor? So is it like a reception then? How much time is alloted with this package for the ceremony/reception?

If anyone had done the Disney Escape wedding in California, please let me know any tips or information you have or even your story, I'll love to hear it. Thank you all :thumbsup2

congrats and welcome! have you tried searching the trip planning forums yet? many DL brides have posted there and maybe there will be some pictures or planning tips you can glean there?! :thumbsup2

Hi! I can't answer all your questions but I do know locations. Your most private option is probably the small gazebo. There is a walkway that goes by but it's kind of out of the way. Yes, there will be people walking by the Brisa or the GCH wedding garden, but the planner will do their best effort to make sure no one stops and gawks at your wedding. People will NOT be walking across your path during the ceremony.

As far as food, I have seen pictures from an Escape wedding reception in a small ballroom at the GCH. I do not know if an outside reception is an option.

If you call (714) 956-6527 you can talk to a sales consultant and they will answer all these questions for you. Good luck! :thumbsup2

thank you everyone. i'm going to check out all the good suggestions you all made. thank you again!

I just wanted to say congrats! I'm also having a disneyland escape wedding in 2013. The package is fairly new so I think as far as the boards go there's not a lot of info. I think there are pictures of some reception sites in the disneyland bride faq.

I'm hoping to have it at the Adventure Lawn gazebo. I love gazebo's for some reason, I think it's weird that show ceremony locations and give you a three course meal but do not list what reception sites are avaliable. Where are you having yours?

ok i called disney hotel today and they said since 2013 is still a while, they don't have that information yet. they gave me the information for 2010 which is very similiar to the 2011. from what i got, there are more locations to choose from for the ceremony, not just the 3 listed in the website. as for the meal, they told me it's really seasonal but they also said they are not sure if they will have the 3 course meal in 2013, so sad. i hope they don't take it away.

Ugh thats one thing that drives me nuts about them they're like doctors they don't deal in any type of commitment Disneys just like Uhhhhhh We only know whats going on next week, Maybe. Thats cool that there are more locations, and it's lame they don't know if they'll be offering the 3 course meal in 2013 that's one of the best parts of the escape package, thoughter then that it seems better to go to Walt Disney World if you don't mind the travel. Thanks for sharing the information though!

Disneyland has offered the Escape package for a long time, but for some reason they don't like to advertise them, and they only will book them 6 months ahead. When I inquired about an escape wedding in Decemeber 2010 for a May 2012 wedding, they told me they wouldn't know until summer 2011 if they would be offering Escape packages in 2012. Since I am a big planner, we moved to a Wishes wedding.

I'm guessing they will continue to offer Escape weddings in 2013 but they won't "guarantee" it until the end of 2012.

I know its been awhile for this thread, but I wanted to tell you that I am having an escape wedding at the end of this year and I'm very excited to have it at Disneyland..... but not without some hesitation. I am using the GCH wedding garden for the ceremony, and the Brisa courtyard for the reception. All in all I am just happy to be having my wedding there, but I do have to say you don't get much in the package deal. You only have 5 selections for your 2 teir cake, and only 2 selections for the plated dinner. They only offer water, tea, or coffee with the package and you have to pay or upgrade for anything else. They only give you white and goldish color linens and absolutely no decor, flowers, center peices ect. Although you can upgrade ANY of this with them but it will cost you a ton more of money. When I was all said and done with what I wanted to upgrade I was well about 12K. At that point you might as well look at the wishes colleciton. IDK to be honest if I had to do it all over and had time, I might just have a wedding else where with a disney theme to it.

I wanted a very perticular cake and my bakery wanted about 700.00 for it top to bottom. Disney informed me that I can not bring in my own cake, but they can make the one I want for an up charge... so I asked how much for the extra 3rd teir, and decor of the cake and they quoted about 700.00...?? Go Figure! I asked how come so much for just 1 tier of cake and all they could tell me was its because we are Disney. Either way, just know what your getting ahead of time and what you can afford to upgrade cause it really isn't all inclusive as they say.

I believe any woman wants that wedding of there dreams, and the escape package ALONE isn't it. You have to bring in alot of your own decor and flowers, ect. and upgrade alot to really get that wonderful perfect disney dream wedding.

I'm happy you are getting your Disneyland wedding! I have to disagree about the value, though. It's a great value for what you get, which is basically everything you need to have a wedding ceremony and reception (and even some stuff you don't need) on Disney property. It really depends on your priorities. If having large centerpieces and a very specific cake are that important, then perhaps the Escape package is not right for you.

I have seen evidence of several Disneyland Escape weddings that come in right at $5k or perhaps $1k-$2k over. Bride Katelyn did her own floral and decor for very little extra money - http://www.disneyweddinginspiration.com/2012/05/real-disney-weddings-katelyn-and-geoff.html

Bride Victoria did some simple linen upgrades and had small centerpieces that looked beautiful - http://www.budgetfairytale.com/2012/01/real-disneyland-weddings-victoria-and.html
