Just went to try to get a quote on the DCL website. Put in the information and it came back that there was no dates available for July and August. Does that mean those dates are full or is the system just being overloaded.

I had the same experience. I think they're still loading the data into the website's sytem.

I was trying on the website as well - I keep getting "Your reservation session has expired due to inactivity. You may start over" Sheesh!
Not my fault that I can't proceed any faster - THEY keep timing out!

This is frustrating! I'm at work and can't be on the phone. I just tried the web site again and it said it was down. I have a TA I'm working with so hopefully he is having better luck.

I just got a "closed for maintenance" message - I knew their Internet servers would implode today ;)

It's back up. Just check May, June and August. Looks like everything is going to be more than we're willing to spend.

I just booked our CA cruise over the phone. The person I talked to said there were over 200 calls in the queue with wait times up to 70 minutes. I'm sure the website is getting hit hard. The prices are the same for all 12 cruises right now, and they're selling quickly. The phone lines are open until midnight EDT tonight instead of the usual 10:00 PM.

We were able to get one of the re-classified category 7 rooms on deck 6. Both of the deck 7 rooms were already booked.

I'm still not sure if we'll do this cruise, but we have a deposit on it. It may well work out that if we book a fall 2005 cruise out of Port Canaveral it will cost less, even with airfare, a hotel on Friday night, and transfers or a rental car.

I have a hold on a cabin for July 9th but I don't know if I'm going to keep it. It's really more than I wanted to pay - $4154 for 1 adult, 2 kids in a cat. 11 (insurance yes, transfers no). I can cruise on Princess, Carnival, or RCI from LA or San Diego during spring break or summer to the same ports for $1000 less for a balcony cabin.

I am kind of bummed too. We were thinking of one of the August 7 nights but after pricing that and then the 14 night CA to FL the 14 night is only 175pp more!!! This is a much better deal but I do not know if we want to give up 2 vacation weeks + more for some time in San Diego/Disneyland. I think we will stick with a RCCL Serenade Southern cruise in January or February 05, San Diego/Disneyland in August 05 and WDW/3 night Wonder in November 05! Less $ with my TA rates and there are sure to be NONE of those on the West coast cruises. ::yes:: :sunny:

What are the dates for the Aug. repositioning cruise? I can not seem to find them and these prices are great for 14 days!:D Thanks

Aug. repositioning dates are 8/20 - 9/3
looks like those rates are coming back a little less than the FL - CA in May

Edited to say: Sometimes a lot less!

This is absolutely correct. I checked this morning on Carnival's website, the June 5 Carnival Pride cruise, calling on the same ports a day later than the cruise I've booked, is $1049 for their lowest balcony stateroom category. We're paying (or considering paying) $2099 for a category 7 on the June 4 Magic cruise. Actually, the highest suite category on Carnival is only $150 more per person than the lowest baclony category on DCL.

I priced an October 2005 DCL cruise, as mentioned in my first post. For the same people, same category, it's only $300 more, including the DCL air pacakge (which for 3 people is $1700!). Pricing the cruise alone, it's $1400 less. I can fly to Orlando, stay a night in the Hyatt, and get to the port for a lot less than $14000. I'm re-thinking my DCL west-coast cruise....
