I have been hearing alot of people saying lately that they don't like CA. We thought it was great!
Tell me-what was your favorite part of CA?
(only positive things here! lets encourage those who are going there!!)

-We loved the Aladdin show

-We loved Who wants to be a Millionare (felt very real!)

-We loved the Electrical Parade

there is many more, but it is your turn! :flower:

I'm glad to hear that it is fun! We will be spending our first day at DL/DCA 3 weeks from tomorrow. We have had friends and family just recently get back from their Disneyland trips and they all loved DCA too! We can't wait!

We love Soarin' Over California and Grizzly River Rapids. :cool1:

California Adventure has some great rides, including three of the best in both parks - Tower of Terror, California Soarin and Grizzly River Run.

BUT - after Disneyland it is a bit of a let down. The theming is not nearly as good, the decorations, characters etc - the whole Disney magic just seems to be missing. Many of the rides in the Paradise Pier area, and just about everything in Bug's Life, are a big disappointment.

That said, I'm glad we went (and we returned so we must have enjoyed it) and some of the rides are superb. If California Adventure only contained Soarin' it would still be worth the visit! Throw in Grizzly and Tower of terror and Screamin' and it is a great day out, only let down by comparisons with its unbeatable sibling across the plaza.

We always have a great time at CA! And I adore the Alladin show.
I thought WWTBAM was closed permanatly. Is it reopened? It was closed when we were there the 1st week of March. I hope they did open it again. We liked it alot, and they need more to do back in that area. :)

I don't compare the two, but I know that it's hard for a lot of people not to, and is probably natural to do so.

I love the idea that California Adventure is a celebration of my, okay OUR, beautiful state. It tries to represent different facets of the different things California has to offer - natural beauty (Yosemite, etc), as well as the man-made treasures (Cannery row, pier amusement parks, aviation history, etc.). Even living in California, I enjoy going there.

I really like the Animation Building, and the Sorcerers Workshop in there. I also like it on a rainy day when it's full of characters interacting, dancing, having fun with the kids of all ages - so much fun. I love DCA in the late afternoon/evening. It's just fun to be there. My favorite attractions would be Soaring Over California, California Screamin', Grizzly River Run, and Aladdin-the Musical. I also like Golden Dreams because it shows the sacrifices that so many people from different cultures made to build California. :sunny:

All indications are that the Millionaire show won't return... but you never know what upper management has planned.

We just got back, and the kids in our group (5, 7 & 8) could have spent all day in Bug's Land!! Everyone also really liked The Muppets 3D. We didn't have any takers on TT!! We stayed at the GC and our view of the park at night was awesome!! GRR and the California Screamin' are really beautfully lite at night. It's not DL, but it is still alot of fun!! It was also great to get away from the crowds in DL and have a little bit of space. I have to say that California Soarin' is my favorite ride in the both parks!! (Although I do love Peter Pan!!)
I'm glad you enjoyed it!!

I know it is supposedly illegal to say this, but I heard a 13/14 year old say was this made to be better then Disneyland?

Well, that's a nice thought, but really, the park was created to give Disneyland guests something else to do when visiting Disneyland. Instead of 1-2 days, now guests are staying 3-5 days, or more, if they use these hotels as a home base. DCA was never advertised as being anything other than a fun secondary park .

I didn't realize Millionaire was closed! That is too bad, we really enjoyed it, and I was all ready to be in the Hot Seat next time we went! :goodvibes

My kids also loved Its Tough to be a Bug show.

And we soooo loved Grizzly River Run and Soarin' too!

I love Calif Adventure! It's a lot of fun. I even like the Redwood Trail area and play what I can there with my neices.

Soarin' is definitely my favorite!

There is a lot to love about CA Adventure! I love Disneyland, and really love having two Disney Parks to visit so close together. I would LOVE it if they built a water park too! :Pinkbounc

Making my first trip in four days....and I can't WAIT!! :flower:

I usually visit WDW 1-2 times a year....but I was bound for DL this year as my friend's son (who I've known since he was about 4 years old) is Aladdin in the Musical there (that's him in my avatar)!!!

I'm definitely going to the ENTIRE experience trying not to "compare" parks...I don't hink the intention of the expansions at EITHER place are meant to out-do, as much as to enhance!!!! I CAN'T WAIT!!!!!! :Pinkbounc

We spend a lot more time in California Adventure. On July 18th we did 'our' circuit of rides - TOT, CA Screamin 2 times, Maliboomer, Orange Stinger 2 times, Mulhulland Madness, Grizzly River 3 times. We also had a snack and dinner and finished all of the above in less than 3 hours. We only went into Disneyland for fireworks and the dessert buffet.

On my last 3 visits to Disneyland, I didn't ride any attractions.

We are just back and I am happy to say I love DCA.

I enjoyed the theaming and thought they did a great job, maybe you have to know and love the many areas of California to apreciate it.

We loved the fact that the lines were reasonable, and the smaller crowds. We loved Aladdin, and Soarin, and California Screaming. We did all agree that if we only had time for one park we would have to choose DL over DCA, but I am pretty sure that would be true no matter what. DL is the park we grew up in and we watched our children grow up in...

We just got back from spending 4 days in DL and DCA. My family loved Screamin' we rode it a four times (our last time was about 45 minutes before the accident Friday night), Tower of Terror, and Soarin. We loved the fact that, after dealing with so many people in DL, we could go into DCA, and practically walk onto rides! (especially ToT!). Our last ride when we left Sat. was ToT (because Screamin' was down). WWTBAM is closed? Wow, we saw it, but never made it down that street, I'll have to tell DD, she wanted to go check it out!

We found Disneyland to be very crowded and congested and we spent more time trying to make sure we didn't get split up. The theming was lost on us because we were always being jostled. California Adventure was so well laid out and spread out and the rides were all a lot of fun. I would have to say that we enjoyed California Adventure more than Disneyland. It needs one or two more headliner rides and it will be fantastic.

Aladdin and the Redwood Creek Challenge Trail. I was a lot more comfortable with the toddler at the Redwood Creek Challenge Trail then at Tom Sawyer's island in Disneyland. Plus it's proximity to the Grand Californian made it a wonderful place to let the kids run around and play. Don't get me wrong - I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE Disneyland - but I also thoroughly enjoy DCA!
