California Adventure Evacuation

So I was at Disneyland California Adventure yesterday and my family were watching the Aladin show. I noticed something odd when they didnt have the flying carpets, it was just singing while the characters on stage moved around the landmarks (in the past when I saw it, they would fly around on the carpet, and come down from the rafters), then after that scene passed Genie and aladin came out and started to talk, all of the sudden the sound went out, the cast members paused and then ran off stage as the lights flashed and a voice came over saying "Attention. Attention. This is an emergancy, please evacuate the building through marked exits" and repeated that.

After we got out they pushed us all into the streets and everyone went about their business, they didn't evacuate the park, just that building.

Anyone know what happened?

Would they evacuate the entire building if one of the cast members was hurt? You would think they would just bring in an ambulance or something.

If one of the stage performers got hurt, then yeah, they'd shut the whole show down and evacuate the premises. "The show must go on" doesn't apply to the in park shows on Disney property.

Wow- I wonder if there was a small fire? Just subbing to find out....

That's also the procedure for a "fire alarm".

Whether there WAS a fire or not wouldn't matter.
If someone pulled the alarm, they would evacuate first and "ask questions" later.
