Califorian Grill: no ADR able to eat at bar/counter?

My DS age 12 has recently become obsessed with eating at the Califorian Grill. I guess he has been watching too much youtube videos as excitement build up to our trip?

So as I surprise can I just walk-in with him and eat appetizers at the bar or counter?
At this point 1. ADR forget it 2. and if available I dont want to invest time and money for a full meal here.

I am thinking he can have a sushi appetizer and I drink a glass of wine.

Yes but go early (when they open) to be sure to get in.

Yep - I agree with pp. We always go as soon as it opens. There are great little tables right by the window that are first come first serve. We usually spend an hour or so just having appetizers and watching the "world" go by from that vantage point - it is really relaxing and worth the time. Ya'll enjoy!
