Okay...im a california girl at heart. my family has visited DL way more than WDW. when i 1st started thinking about doing the CP i thought cali, just b/c that is where ive spent the most time w/ the mouse. the WDW CP started looking better b/c it offers housing and DL didn't. Now that DL does, im sorta torn. Cali? Florida? try to do both?
has anyone done both? if so which is better...in any way?
thanks!

well i used to live in Cali myself when i was younger and i went to Disneyland many time but now i have spent most of my life growing up on the east coast in D.C. I dunno if you have ever been to Walt Disney World but its about 3 times the size of the island of Manhattan and Disneyland is tiny compared to Disney World. ...Its kinda like the holy place for Disney. I mean Disney World has the 4 major parks and 2 water parks on top of that and then like a tone of resorts, and golf courses so to be honest I know that i would and you might too have a even better time at Disney World because you would not only get to experiance the adventure and fun of being away from home in a new place but Disney World would also have all those different parks to offer. It will but tons of fun just like Disneyland but on a even bigger scale! I know i can't wait!

I haven't done the Disneyland program, but I would venture to say it's probably a good deal smaller (available roles, CP cast members and the actual resort). You'll also need your own transportation.

I'm sure the Disneyland Program is great, but nothing beats the original (I do have to say the apartments they've got now at Disneyland look awesome).

I have been to WDW, but it was a long time ago, like pre-AK. i knew that DL was small...i guess it just adds to the charm for me.

i agree. the diversity that comes with the hugeness of WDW is a definite plus. from what ive read on the CP site, FL also offers more classes, programs, and benefits.

I've done the WDW CP 3 times. But now that housing is included at DL I would love to try it there, except that the no-transportation is a problem.

I'm a Californian who did the WDWCP and is going back to WDW, even with the new housing at Disneyland. I guess it's like Wincaps said, Disneyland is awesome, but Walt Disney World is so big. To me, there are more career opportunities there, especially with the international focus (EPCOT). It depends on what you want to do with it, and I am sure any program would be fun, but when else will you get the chance to really explore the Florida parks in-depth?

Actually, its because of you I found out that DL is now offering housing. I was reading some other thread and you posted about it. i got on the CP site and checked it out. The apartments look really nice, almost any nicer than the pics ive seen of Chathman and Vista. The main reason (at first) i considered WDWCP was because of housing...my parents would feel way more comfortable with me staying in disney-provided housing. The transportation thing is another big one. I dont know how I'd feel about driving in SoCal, even if housing is only 2 miles away. Even if i did take my own car, I'd feel better knowing that I had a transportation back up.

Also, something I noticed with the DL CP offering was that you get paid more, but get less hours and have to pay more for housing. It might not be a big deal, but... also, I may have misunderstood, but are the 16 maingate entrances for the cast or are those for family members? Because if you can only get in 16 times... yeeesh.
