Cali Grill to electrical parade... is it possible?

If we got a ADR for 5:30 when Cali Grill opened is there any chance we'd be able to catch the Electrical Parade at 7p?? Or am I dreaming??

IS there any non-MK restaurant that we could eat at and still get back to MK before the parade if it starts at 7p??

That would be a very tall order....Do not think it is possible...They should sit you right away because you are going at first seating...But the meal takes about an hour (maybe more) and you still have to travel back to the MK and get through security/gates...

If you want to try I would suggest NOT taking the monorail back to the MK...Walk from the CR is faster because the monorail makes three others stops before arriving at the MK if you are coming from the CR...

I am thinking that the CG is expensive and an experience you should enjoy, not rush through...Save it for a night you can stay and enjoy if possible...

Maybe pick a place that is open for lunch through dinner so you can eat earlier...Such as the Whispering Canyon Cafe at the Wilderness Lodge, Kona Cafe at the Poly, the Grand Floridian Cafe, the Wave at the CR, or the Trails End Buffet at Fort Wilderness...We like the lunch menu at the WCC!

maybe do a sit down lunch, then grab counter service for dinner while you get your spot for the parade?? i don't think think you'll make your current plan

You could eat at pretty much any of the non-signature restaurants on the monorail and make it back, because they all start serving dinner earlier than the signatures (4:30 or 5 rather than 5:30) and are a shorter overall dining experience (generally 1 hour instead of 2). There's really no way to have a signature dinner and get back for the parade when it starts at 7, though.

I may be thinking of the wrong OP..are you the poster who had a child with multiple complex allergies who needed special meals prepared for them? If you are, you may not have time for that at any sit-down restaurant outside MK, and counter service is probably not a good option for you.

Yes, my son has multiple food allergies... so we are trying to avoid CS places and stick to TS instead which will be safer for him.

Honestly, I didn't think it would work but thought I'd ask just to see. I really want one nice signature meal for us... the rest of the meals we are planning are geared towards the kids. We loved Cali Grill when we went a few years ago and would like to do it again. The problem is the only day that it works into our park plan schedule is the same day that they are doing the electrical parade... and the only day we'd be able to catch that. I may just need to sit down and rework our plan... I want both
