We are looking at dxdp and we are planning on doing Cali Grill with our kids. None of us are big eaters but we all (kids included) like to try new things. I thought I read awhile back that this restaurant does not like kids sharing credits:confused3

I have enough credits just in case we have a problem but honestly 2 adult apps, 2 adult entrees, 2 desserts and 1 kids meals would more then enough for us and that would save 2 kids meal credits even it is is just cs to tide them over between ADRS.

Have you had any problems doing this at Cali Grill. I understand I will pay for a drink oop and probably a child's salad but that is not really a good use of 2 kids credits.

Thanks

I split 2 meals between my triplets last month with no problem. No one mentionned that it wasn't possible. Hope it hasn't changed as we should be doing it again in August.

There was a report (and as far as I know, only one) from a family that said a child had to order their own DDP meal and couldn't just share an adult's.

I suppose that in the above examples it would be important to know the ages of the children, as that seems to matter according to this quote from the current DDP brochure:

"The Disney Dining Plan is unavailable for Guests under the age of 3, but they may share from an adult plate at no charge, or a meal may be purchased from the menu. The price of the meal will be added to your bill.
Guests ages 3-9 must order from a children’s menu where available."

As in any business that offers packages, part of the pricing strategy includes the fact that not every guest will utilize all elements of the package, and this quote seems to be consistent with everything that I have read on this board and others concerning sharing of meals under the DDP, that is, other than the exception for under 3, DDP meals aren't to be shared.

The child was over 3, as they had DDP credits. Children under 3 don't have credits.

That is the only example I have read where sharing on DDP was not permitted at California Grill. If I remember the poster said they even consulted the manager who said the child would have to order a meal. I think the parents for whatever reason did not want to spend a credit for the child (over 3) and the child was going to order nothing, but share from the parents' plates.

However, I have not seen any other references to this, just the one post. But the OP should be prepared.

Maybe that's why I had no isssue as I ordered 2 kids meals for 3 kids. Maybe if I would have said they were to eat off my plate, they would not appreciate as only children under the age of 3 can do that according to their brochure
