:goodvibes So after our trip last week I think I can get DH to try Cali Grill for the first time, the menu looks awesome to me and to him just ok. Will a non adventurous person enjoy this place? He loved chicken, pork and beef.

Also what time should I book for just the 2 of us to see the fireworks? It will be my b-day so I want to make it special.

TIA

This is my husbands and my favorite resturant. My husband was and still can be a very meat and potato kind of guy. He had the oak filet of beef and said it was one of the best pieces of steak he ever had.

As for the fireworks, we did do this. But make sure to book your dinner at minimum 30 minutes before the fireworks go off and not at the exact time. Otherwise you might miss it. The view of the fireworks is amazing, and make sure to walk off on the obersvation deck. It is something else.

The pork tenderloin is to die for ... and I'm not always a huge fan of pork. I think that there are enough menu choices for pickier eaters (I still include myself in that demographic sometimes).

You'll love it - they have wonderful food and service!

One more question, what is the dress code?

When we went, my husband wore a polo shirt and nice kahki pants, I wore a skirt.
The disney web site said

Dress Code Guidelines:
Men: Khakis, slacks, jeans, dress shorts, collared shirts. Sport coats are optional.
Ladies: Capris, skirts, dresses, jeans, dress shorts.

NOT permitted in dining room: Tank tops, swimwear, hats for gentleman, cut offs, or torn clothing. While t-shirts are now allowed, the policy remains that t-shirts with offensive language and/or graphics are not acceptable.

That is good to know...DH and I just went to Yachtsman and he wore nice jeans and a polo and I wore a skirt and blouse...so the same attire will be ok....it is hard to get DH to dress up on vacation as he wears a suit to work every day

We love California Grill. Along with Jiko it is our favorite place to eat at WDW. They have many entrees that I'm sure your husband will like. My favorite is the Pork Tenderloin w/ creamy polenta. We always start with one of there great flatbreads. They also have a very good winelist.

Make sure you head out onto the observation deck at least ten minutes early - otherwise you might find yourself on the wrong side of a wall of bodies for optimum viewing.

Im very non adventurous and I enjoy CA Grill very much!

My favorites are the Hearts of Romain Salad, Triple Cheese Flatbread, and the Filet. The Banana Butterscotch Buzz for dessert is to die for. :thumbsup2

Is this considered a "signature dining" experience? From the looks of the menu I am thinking so. It doesn't say on the Disney site which is odd. I am guess if we choose this it will require 2 TS meals.

Yes, it is, and it requires a CC# to book, but they don't charge anything to your card unless you don't show up.
