Cali Grill Dress Code...??

Quick question on the dress code at California Grill. Are Shorts and a collared shirt OK for men??? Naturally my wife will look fine.. she is just worried about her vacationing husband who likes to stay comfortable on vacation. Anyway, this is our first time eating there as the kids are finally old enough to act well in those establishments.

Just curious what the norm was.

Collared shirt and nice shorts should be fine. We've eaten there several times over the last 4-5 years and I've actually be surprised at how casual some of the guests are.

There really is no dress code -- at least one that's enforced. Supposedly, men can't wear tank tops and no one can wear swim suits. Beyond that, anything goes.

Many of the signatures will also have men take off any hats they are wearing as hats on men are against the dress code also.

Not to hijack the thread but I have a question along the same lines. DH and I are going on a date night there. I know they say no tank tops but what about a sundress, would that be ok?

Sundress is fine. The tank top prohibition dosen't seem to apply to the ladies in any case.

Dress code...snicker...as a frequenter of WDW signature restaurants, I have yet to see any part of any dress code enforced at any of them. The only one that does enforce is Victoria and Albert's. Beyond that, I've seen just about everything except swimwear (including tank tops on men), with no one ever being asked to leave.

Warning... I found the place cold. So if you wear a sundress take a wrap of some kind!
