Cali Grill Bar area??

Hey: DH and I are sneaking away from the kids on Saturday night during our trip, and we want to go to MK... don't want to waste time on a full dinner. I think Cali Grill has a bar? Can we just show up there and have a drink at the bar (around 7:30pm), maybe order something like an appetizer? Or is that not allowed or too crazy crowded.

Is there a dress code at cali grill? I will be in a skirt and tank, he in a collared shirt and shorts. If there is, we will try somewhere else.

It's allowed, but you would have to check at the 2nd floor desk and see if there is room in the CG lounge. If there's room, they'll have you taken up. If there isn't, you won't be able to get in.

I don't know what time the MK fireworks are scheduled for the night you want to try, but anytime close to the fireworks is unlikely to have space.

You can order from the full menu at the CG bar. I've done it, but only by showing up before they open at 5:30.

You could also try the Tambu Lounge at the Polynesian, which sells appetizers. However, during peak mealtimes, it is usually crowded with guests waiting to get into Ohana.

Contemporary has a lounge called the Outer Rim, but I don't know if they sell appetizers. You could also try the Territory Lounge at Wilderness Lodge. WL is not on the monorail line, but you can take a boat from MK to WL, or a short bus ride. The BLT flatbread is great and they will also sell you the cheese selection from Artist Point. I don't remember ever seeing the Territory Lounge crowded.

Thanks for the info! I was also thinking of trying the Territory lounge...
We are hoping to be at Cali Grill well before the fireworks, so maybe we'll have a shot. If not, it's an easy jump to WL.

And just to add that what you propose to wear (if you can get in to CG) is just fine.
