We are flying in on the red eye from Wa state arriving early Fri morn. We planned a pool/ resort day to get on EST Friday. I thought as an added treat I would book a special dinner that first day. I booked the Cali Grill not realizing it was 2 ts credits and that they did not open until 5:30. That's 8:30 at home so I'm not sure how awake we will all be. (2 DSs 15 and 12), but my DH has always had a soft spot for the Contemporary and the reviews are great.

What do you all think? Is it worth 2 TS credits? Will we be to asleep to enjoy the view and food? Any thoughts would be much appreciated!

IMHO California Grill is worth 2TS, it's my family's favorite restaurant in WDW! Honestly, I would make your reservation for another night. As you said, your body's dinner time will be earlier, and you may be too tired to enjoy it. You could always just use counter service that day and play it by ear, or book a table service lunch ADR somewhere on your "dinner" time.

California Grill is worth 2 ts credits. We have been dining there on our first night for many years now. It is our favorite place to dine at WDW.

Ok, you lost me. If it's 5:30 in Orlando, and you are from Washington, wouldn't it be 2:30 there, not 8:30?? :confused3 Do you not subtract hours as you go west??

No, you're right Lindsey. It will be 2:30 Pacific time when it is 5:30 in FL.

But I would switch to another night if you can. It is such a great place to dine that I would not want to still be recovering from a red eye. But if switching doesn't work, keep it!

we just ate there on Sat night(9/29) and it was our favorite meal, well worth the 2 ts credits....

I totally agree that CG is worth 2 credits, but I do think I'd try to go another night. I look forward to CG every trip and would want to be at my best...:goodvibes
