Hi all,

First time posting. I'm planning a trip for the first week of March on the deluxe plan- with a focus on signatures. It's a bit last minute but I was able to get a Cali Grill reservation for Sunday at 9:00 pm. From a reservation finder, I just scored brunch reservations for noon. I have the credits to do both, but I was wondering if anyone who has done both had any opinions- I think it should be okay time wise but idk if it will be the same meal twice or if brunch and dinner are different enough. It is my only opportunity to do brunch and the other day I could do dinner (out of pocket since its during my split stay with no plan) I just got a V&A reservation.

Thanks!

Same restaurant, different experiences.

We LOVE brunch at CA Grill. It's too much food for me, in part, because I can fill-up on sushi before my entree arrives. I would certainly go to brunch here during every vacation if given the chance.

Dinner at CA Grill is too hit-or-miss for my taste, but we still go when staying at Contemporary. That said, this notion might actually fit your plans best, because when I arrive at CA Grill for dinner, I typically anticipate eating a 'lite' meal with the every more pleasant nighttime Magic Kingdom shimmering in the background - fireworks are a bonus.

It may be a bit over-the-top and decadent going to CA Grill twice in one day, but if the idea fits your vacation plans - go for it!

Brunch and dinner are very different. It can be done in one day. I would try to score an earlier brunch using reservation finder - say 10 or 1030 am. That will be a fantastic day eating out!

This sounds like a great dining day to me. Does you dinner coincide with fireworks?

Cali Grill brunch is our favorite meal on property, you will love it! But I wouldn’t eat at the same restaurant twice in one day, even though they’re different menus. If you want to see the fireworks you can bring your brunch receipt back and view them from the deck.

I’d look for somewhere else.

The question I have is do you want to dine there twice in the same day? If so, then it is not too much.

You have the credits available, and the timing works with your schedule, so I would do it. If you are going just for the fireworks and not the dinner menu, and if you truely want a different restaurant, I would suggest you think about Narcoossees at the Grand. I think the view is better, as is the atmosphere inside the restaurant. I like to food at both, but they really are different, as is the atmosphere.

If you choose Narcoossees, go to the Grand a little early and stop into the Rose lounge. It is lovely, and takes you back to the live action BATB.

Brunch is simply too much food to eat there for a second time in one day. You won't be making the most of your Deluxe plan at dinner.

I'd keep the brunch reservation and then come back with your receipt to watch the fireworks at night. Brunch is a unique experience, and the view during the day is rare and not to be missed.

A few years ago, to celebrate an important birthday, I decided I wanted to have dinner at California Grill. So we flew to Disney (from Pennsylvania) on Friday, had dinner Friday night. I then decided that since we were there and this was a pretty major birthday, I also wanted to do the brunch. So we had brunch on Sunday and flew home Sunday night. I know its not the same day, but it was pretty close together and I really enjoyed the week end!

I have done the brunch 3 times and have never been able to have a full dinner that same evening. The brunch is so much food, we usually just have a snack or salad later that evening.

I must really be in the minority, but I really prefer Cali Grill for dinner. I don't eat most of the stuff offered on the buffet part of the brunch, and the desserts are not my style, so I basically had the entree. And I had a heck of a time get a basic OJ mimosa! I enjoyed the relaxed atmosphere, but it was a one and done for me. But I go for dinner almost every trip now.

Did both brunch and dinner. Both are great. Saying that, to really enjoy the experience I wouldn't do them both the same day for 2 reasons. First of all - soooooooo much food. Maybe even too much food for the one day. Second, being at Cali grill, either for brunch or dinner, you can enjoy fireworks view from the restaurant (on day of brunch you can come back later for the fireworks). Doing them on two occasions will get you double access to the do that.

The Rose lounge is on my list! It looks really cool, how were the drinks?

We went last year to the Cali Brunch. Fantastic! Later that night we ate at Storybook Dining with Snow White. Way too much food in one day for us! This March DH and I are going again to the Brunch but won’t book a meal for later that night.

I personally would go ahead and do both. They are totally different. No where in your post I could see it was the same day? Is it?

I have gotten the deluxe dining plan on almost every trip and many times eat 3 TS meals a day. So as far as how much you can eat in a day.... depends on you. Some would say it's too much food but really depends on you.

As far as the same place 2x in a trip... I do that all the time bc from meal to meal they are different. I have Hollywood and Vine for breakfast and dinner. same thing with Garden Grill. I say go for it!

Brunch. I wouldn't want to eat a huge dinner so late at night. Plus dinner is more comparable to other signatures--brunch is more unique.
